LA Tech FB Folks, How do we keep Cumbie one more year? He’s lost his last 4 against Spread

LA Tech Friends,

Can you please keep Coach Cumbie just one more season?

Perhaps, as a courtesy to your Louisiana neighbors that have been cashing the past 4 weeks on him?

Happy to wet your beaks a little bit as well for a 2025 Coach search.

Just think how much you could aid everyone in this recession by giving us one more season of Cumbie not covering.

Thanks for your consideration.

Well, I'm not kicking in to a Cumbie buyout for this AD to make a hire. You might be safe for another year.

Replacing Cumbie won't fix much if anything, the talent is BAD in that program right now. NIL is destroying these smaller programs.

The current state of Louisiana Tech’s football program is a dumpster fire on wheels. I like Dr. Wood but he has a complete disaster on his hands right now. Cumbie is lost as a coach and has alienated the fan base. The casuals were gone weeks ago and he’s on the verge of losing the diehards. The program is suffocating financially and who is going to put money into this?

Does anyone in Ruston believe Cumbie can turn this ship around? Short of begging Gary Patterson to do him a favor, Cumbie has about a 1% chance of surviving beyond next season. The only reason he hasn’t been fired already is the program doesn’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

We can’t afford to attract new players because of COA and NIL and we can’t afford to keep anyone with an ounce of talent because of COA and NIL.

Louisiana Tech is an FCS program trying to compete at the FBS level at this point.

Tech should have taken that Independence Bowl invite back in 2012.

Yep. Short of a miracle we’re circling the good ole terlit bowl. Not just football, but the whole shebang.

And it’s a shame too. So much potential, in so many different ways. But feels like nobody knows wtf to do about pretty much anything over there.

Eh which is strange because Tech has good athletic facilities for a program their size. Figured they would find a way to make some sort of noise in the NIL with the old money Ruston folks, guess they are dying off.

If Tulane can do it so can La Tech.

James Madison just moved up and they are beating the hell out of the SBC.

Liberty has yet to have a losing season.

Jacksonville State in year 1 already is currently 7-3 and just scared the shite out of South Carolina.

It’s pretty bad. They’re recruiting my kids for cheer/dance. They don’t even go to away games 99% of the time. Not even to Dallas. They told me there are more people at ULM games now, which is nuts to me. WM has more in attendance than either. Maybe not officially, but actual people in the crowd…100%.

Why did attendance fall off so hard despite all the upgrades at Tech?

Tech, along with about 40 more teams, need to move back to the FCS. They are getting left further and further behind in the NIL/Tranfer Portal era. Tech inparticlular is going to get left out in the the cold after all the conference relignment.

Tulane poached their best defensive player in the offseason.

The portal is going to be Tech's undoing.

Liberty is loaded with money CUSA and SunBelt will struggle to compete with.

And his assistant coach is now a QB coach at LSU, and the strength coach is at Tulane. Letting that whole staff go was probably a mistake… I think Skip and the staff were struggling with adjusting to 2020 and afterwards.

Six in a row!

Spread was JSU -8.5.

Coach Cumbie delivers again to our wallets, losing by 39!

In all seriousness, he needs another year or two to get guys in that fit his system.
