Depending on how my day goes, a $1 tri wheel Pharaoh/All/All is $361. When is the last time a Derby tri paid less than that? I know people love Dortmund, but I would almost bet that if you could ask Baffert in an empty room off the record, he would say AP is miles better. Can't wait for this Saturday.

He made me a good bit of money that derby.
You see how big my guy has gotten? His "aunt" is taking on the boys in the twin spires turf sprint this weekend. If 5 1/2 I'd give her a chance, but heitai doesn't hit the wall until 5.

Twice since the 2000 derby has a $1 tri paid less. In 2007 the $2 tri was 444 and in 2000 the $2 tri was 435.
However the median during that period was $3400 for a $2. So in that case your $361 could be around 1700. Is a 5-1 return worth the risk?
Hell the median exacta is $300 on a $2 so if you bet the 19 other outcomes at $2 per you get $300 on a $38 which is better than your scenario.
The key way you win is the belief that chaos happens behind the winner. Last year was a great example as I think 2nd place was 37-1. I like your strategy as a whole but too much can happen in the derby for me to put it on 1 horse like that.

Charismatic is my favorite horse ever. I was at Keeneland for the Lexington Stakes before the Derby. I was having TERRIBLE day in all respects. Went to the paddock before the Lexington, and saw this horse that was the spitting image of his Dad. Charismatic. 25-1, I believe. He just stared at me. I mean, he just sat there and stared at me. It was absolutely magical. He went off through the tunnel and I went to the window and put every last dollar I had on him to win. Bad day turned into great day. Loaded up on him for Derby and Preakness. Tax bill was significant. Belmont broke my heart.

As much as I really don't love Malibu moon, Danzig moon looked great galloping this am. I really think I may not even bet this derby.

Watched alot of them race on youtube yesterday. I think the very large field will mess some horses up. Dont know how they will do in a crowd getting bumped around. With that being said, I did like the grit of Frost and so far that is my fav b4 the draw.

18 is fricking perfect. the only question i had about him was being boxed in now he doesn't have to worry about that. he's big brown better than this field. they could probably start him standside and he'd still win
