Not sure what happened with Upstart, but I guess people must have known something was up which is why he was so cold on the board.

I will say that they need to give Mr. Z a rest before he kills himself and others with his in race antics. He was literally about to run over another horse down the stretch the first time.

Does anyone else watch Silicon Valley?

I can just see the jerk that is funding Pied Piper screaming "This man F***ks!" while pointing at Victor Espinoza.

Did American Pharoah run a nearly flawless tactical race, or is it just me?

Well done, George. Hitting the $1 tri was the only saving grace I had on the day.

I've never hit an exotic in the Derby before, then to hit them all. Will be a fun trip to Keeneland to cash today. Will bring wife to cash some of it to stay away from the tax man.

Picked derby winner.
Had a decent exacta box hit.
Called the superfecta but didn't have the balls to bet it.

Ended up even on the weekend betting every race b/c I hit on all 3 tickets I had in race 12 & 13. Wps on both winners and exacta on race 12.

Really fun weekend. Had fun getting all dressed up and mingling, but not sure if I would go back... What's the draw? Why not just watch it on tv?
We had TERRIFIC seats. We just didn't enjoy the betting and there wasn't much to do besides that. Am I missing something?

It's kind of a zoo. Too crowded.

I've had fun, though, and will be headed back hopefully next year.

yeah, Derby Day extends the time between races so much it is hard to deal with on track unless you are yukking it up with the VIPs or laughing/vomiting at the infield antics.

Try Keeneland in the Fall, especially when Uk is playing a home game.

the more i watch that replay, as good as AP was, I don't' think he wins if he doesn't have that 18 post. that was literally the perfect position for the race

when you have the best horse, you'll give up ground / post position for a clean trip. You ever notice that zenyatta, the year after she won Breeders Cup Distaff, never again had a post position below 5 Yes that's how much research I put into that fricking breeders cup race that year lol. The 2011 Breeders Cup Classic was the first time in 2 years she had a post position under 5 since she won from the 1 hole in the Distaff. I actually calculated the odds of that happening at the time and it was something like 437 to 1. They wanted her wide and clean for all her races

PS- for the record I hit the 2011 classic lol. One of my more prouder moments in handicapping. and the razorbacks stumped the living shite out of the gamecocks next on ESPN lol. Great sports night
