I honestly think he should be awarded the title based on the Chokelahoma game 6 alone. Anyone disagree?

Maybe, but they don't do it hockey style.

I would say since no one else clearly runs away with it that I would give it to him tonight if they close out.

He only averaged 15 pts coming into this game

Depends on what Curry does in the 2nd half also

i kind of like how hockey has a playoff mvp.

the nba should do that. you have your regular season mvp and your playoff mvp. the finals, while important, is only 1/4 of the playoffs.

And again I look at most valuable as the player that if you had lost, then without a shadow of a doubt you would not be in position to win the title. That is Thompson. Yeah I would agree that Curry fits that as well but not to the extent that KT does based off the OKC series.

I agree that GS is a system team that doesn't work as well without everyone but you could argue that Livingston could have filled in for Curry just fine throughout most the playoffs. I think setting an NBA record for 3's is pretty undeniable that you're the only player that could have pulled that off. He probably won't win an MVP off of the one game alone but I don't see anyone else running away with it either. Short of Cleveland winning the series at least.

OKC is winning the title if Curry isn't on the Warriors. Unless they embrace their choking mentality against the Cavs.

Not at all but you can't make as strong a case for losing Curry as you can had GS lost Thompson. Livingston has done well in Curry's absence. Thompson set an NBA record in scoring for the playoffs. Hard to argue against that without a clear number 1.
