Yes. He's not a perfect player by any means, but he gives you things other guys in the league simply can't-- you take the issues on defense, as part of it, but he's still one of the top couple of PFs in the game.

I disagree that he is a Top 15 player. I would rather have a great defensive player who scores on putbacks and dunks than Love. I like Ibaka more than Love. I know many disagree with that though.

I am completely the opposite; you get more for your other players, when your guy is an impact player on the offensive end. A defensive backstop is nice, but give me the guy that gets your average and below rotation players open shots because of the contortions he causes NBA defenses, every time.

I think you aren't realizing the impact bad defense can have. If the player you are guarding becomes great each night, that's a problem.

No, I fully realize the impact both bad-- and great-- defense can have.

One, though, frankly matters more than the other. In the college game, I'd much rather have the defender-- but in the pro game, the offensive player is the answer.

disagree here. A player that is sieve defensively will be exploited by great teams to the extent that he hurts his team. Secondly, open shots are great for the other four players, but that is what the defense wants (i.e. "make someone else beat you")

Some sort of two way play is needed. The better defenders can find roles in the offense (Roll Man, Corner guy, Rim Runner, etc.) much easier than masking a bad defensive player every possession.

The Great Defender affects the 8 feet around him; the Great Offensive player affects the entire court at any time.

I'd much rather have a rebounder that they try to pound and attack, than the guy they can ignore one the offensive end.

Give me Ben Wallace in his prime over Kevin Love. No doubt.

A Great Defender is not exclusively a rim protector.

Wiggins is potentially a top 15-20 player ever.

People think this is really a bold prediction?

Considering before injury to Embid he wasn't going #1 or #2(Bucks liked Parker better), and questions about his motor still exist, yes, it's pretty fricking bold.

That's why I said 8 feet, not the paint.

regardless, A great perimeter defender is like a great DB and can shut off one side of the court. A Great offensive player can be shut down by team defense.
