Should Calipari be on the hot seat?

Jesus, solid thread.
4 Final 4's in 5 years...hotseat

Meh. They lost one fricking game

I agree with your logic. Coach K also should have been fired when after failing to win a championship with five top 14 picks in 1999 (Brand, Langdon, Avery, Battier, Maggette).

Cal could be like Johnny Jones and completely coach 2 potential NBA picks out of the draft and choke away in the early round of the dance.

He should get the death penalty

Championships are a dumb way to measure college coaching success because the NCAA tournament isnt set up for the best team to actually win.
They had 4 lottery picks and lost one game all season (to another talented team). It is what it is.

If you had just said "Kentucky failed to win the championship with four lottery picks......" and followed it up with "how?". I would agree.
Your statement isn't even humorous.

Those lottery picks were made based on talent and potential. It usually takes more than just talent to win a championship on any level.(There are exceptions)

What?

The tournament is a stupid way of picking a champion. It's fun and exciting, but ultimately not a great way of determining the best team.

I mean, he is 100% not on the hot seat, but it would be a lot more valid if you had said he has underachieved a bit.

OP is off base here but this is just a mess

This.
Ideally, every round would be best-of-three with the higher seed hosting (until the F4 of course). Just get rid of conference tourneys and start conference play sooner.

This might be the only thing dumber than the OP

This sounds familiar. I remember talking heads saying something similar about a certain university and its coach after it had several highly drafted players do extremely well in their rookie seasons.
