He made me a good bit in the spiral. He's a good turf/synthetic horse, which is why I've been following his morning visits to the track.

No clue on palice. 8-1? 10-1? Hell have backers based on the la derby form and his bad trip. And pletcher. May have to wait for post for that.

So how's he been doing on the dirt?

I wonder if Calvin can keep from being "sloppy" himself.

I rarely bet the Triple Crown. Young horses being asked to do things they've never done before. You can't tell which ones have it in them and which ones don't. In general, never discount a California horse or one ridden by Calvin Borel.

I've just got onyx, frac daddy, mylute, palice, revolutionary right now.

Will take one of the following;
Orb, Normandy (son of tapit at 10f?!, but he looked great galloping this am)

I just need 5. Probably won't put frac daddy in my exacta box because he only has a maiden win, but will probably do a small accross the board bet.

Vyjack looked awesome too. He's easy to pick out galloping in his hackamore

What kind of chance do you think Normandy can pull out of that pack and take it in the end?

This is a bad enough group that his daddy may not matter. From the gallops I've seen he looks great. Apparently his work, while not sizzling, gets good remarks from turf writers.

All pletcher's works are moved up to tomorrow instead if Sunday due to the weather.

I'm hearing if he doesn't get stuck in a pack that he can't find his way out of, the last few legs he can turn on the turbos and win this thing.

Just what some of the F-I-L's friends are saying.

Well, he worked great this am. As long as he bounces out of it well, he's the first confirmed horse in my exacta box.

Still a ways out, but the forecast, as of now, looks horrible for Derby Day. Even possibility of wintry precipitation. Hope for a change.

You serious?! We had one at keeneland on bluegrass day and I froze my arse off.

Guess I should be looking for wet track ponies.
