Alex Smith completed how many touchdowns to WRs last year again? He's the definition of a game manager.

Russell Wilson threw 20.

I said an arguent can be made that Mett is better than what each of those teams currently have. I'm making my argument for why he is better.

I hate the redskins but RG3 has won rookie of the year, made a pro bowl and let his team to the playoffs. Mett will never do any of those.

I'm saying an argument clearly cannot be made at this point.

Alex Smith is well-respect, seasoned veteran with a TON of wins in this league.

Mett played OK as a rookie in 7 games and showed promised arm talent.

Mettenberger with an above average O-line could have a career similar to Jim Everett.

RG3 fricking blows. And of course Mett cna't win ROY.

To say he won't make a Pro-Bowl is probably true, unless the other 5 players selected turn it down like what happens every year.

And he could easily lead a team to the playoffs

That displays an inability to stretch the field. Again I'm giving reasons why Mett is better. Give him what the chiefs have and I truly believe he would put up better numbers than what Smith did.

And has never been the same after the injury.

And has looked like shite since being injured. Mariota will see a similar fate with that terrible OL.

Mett passed for 60% and over 200 ypg as a rookie on an absolutely horrible team.

I'm not saying Mariotta may not end up making the Titans look smart. But, Mett certainly showed he can start in the league.

You think Mett could "never" lead his team to the playoffs?

I mean, obviously he won't ever win rookie of the year. And, MAYBE he won't ever make the pro-bowl although I certainly wouldn't bet my paycheck on "ever".

But the playoffs? Cmon. The guy is DEFINITELY better than some QBs who have led their teams to playoffs. That's just not a reasonable bet at all.

The problem with QBs who are good largely because of their feet is that it is very hard to tell if they'll still be good when their feet slow down.

As such, they become sort of like RBs with a lifespan of about till age 30.

Problem with that is, unlike RBs, many QBs can be relied upon for some damned good football after age 30.

The NFL sucks up rolling through RBs every 5 years. Not so much QBs.

Mett has serious NFL arm talent and is prlly in the top 10 in the NFL on just pure arm talent alone.

Can you explain exactly what the frick "arm talent" is and how Mettenberger is top 10 in the league, because your statement seems laughable.

Well duh. The football people know Mariota's not really that good. He shouldn't have even been a first rounder if we're being honest about his skill set and background.

Owners were scared of Winston, and understandably so. In the process of desperately looking for an alternative, they propped Mariota far higher than he should have been.

Everyone likes Mariota. When you like someone you tend to idealize them to an extent. But he can't live up to what he's being asked to do, sorry to say.

Lots of pro-Mettenberger comments by their fans
If you look at Metts stats from last year, he had a great rookie seasons for a pocket passer. People in Nashville noticed that. The only concern is he stands like a statue and hasnt learned to move in the pocket and gets crushed by d-lineman

He has one of, if not the strongest arm in the league. He can make every throw. Easily top 10 in arm talent.

Also zero mobility and bottom 5 in avoiding sacks

I don't think people realize that this is probably the biggest learning curve for rookie qbs.
