That's right, I thought last year's game was in South Bend because it was a low scoring affair.

Kelly is the same coach he always was. Weak soft offenses. Blames the players. Give me Freeman all day.

Freeman in yr 2 has a better QB by a mile than Kelly ever did in his decade+ at the school.
I don't know if Freeman is a good coach at all, but I suspect his team to be more competitive than Kelly's were against top competition, simply due to a higher talent ceiling and QB play.

The fact that Freeman contained that Ohio State offense is extremely impressive. That game later this month will be a slugfest.

Freeman is a far better recruiter than Kelly ever was.

Kelly can recruit in the trenches and TE’s, occasionally a LB and a decent RB. He can’t recruit secondary, QB, or WR. He will come crashing down like a film scaffold during a wind storm in BR if he can’t get that figured out ASAP.
Freeman with a QB and getting rid of Tommy Pickle at OC might have ND on to something. Still think it’s a 2 loss season but taking one of OSU, Clemson, or USC.
