There is still a large contingent of fans who "knock" the best basketball player they've ever watched because 7 years ago he chose to leave Mo Williams and Varajeo to play with Bosh and Wade.

Make it the 2nd best player I've ever watched and you can count me in this group.

Also change "knock" to hate

I don't remember people claiming LeBron single handedly ruined the NBA as much as they claimed it with KD. Also most people felt this was worse and people are still far from moving on

People were literally saying KD ruined the league

From a competitive standpoint, they aren't wrong. KD joined an already historically good team. No one can come close to beating them. I don't think that's backlash, it's factual. Now, the league is far from ruined. But I don't think it's outrageous as a fan to be upset about the fact that there is now little to no drama and there is literally zero doubt who will be champion when the season starts.

I think we're arguing different things. People hated/still hate Lebron for his move. I think most of the people hating KD's move, don't hate KD so much as they hate how the competitive balances of the league are now more lopsided than ever.

Yeah I think KD's backlash was worse than Lebron's. The Decision probably got more coverage overall because it's Lebron but I feel like Lebron had way more defenders than KD

Why do you feel the need to defend yourself so much? Is it because you know it's true and don't want to admit it to yourself?

Dude. You're definitely wrong on this one.

The heat lebron took was a lot worse than KD.

You MIGHT be slightly biased.

I can't help but be defensive. All this hatred for KD just blinds everything. I figured after about a 1000 posts it would be better but it's just not.

yes they did. That was the first time a real super team was formed. LA kind of did it with Payton and Malone but they were far past their primes. The decision was an entire TV event and was an event in which Lebron left his hometown team to play with two superstars. Lebron still, to this day, gets shite for that. Lebron being arguably the biggest athlete on the planet makes the issue even bigger with him. KD, in my opinion, didn't catch nearly as much shite as Lebron unless he continues to receive criticism the rest of his career. And just imagine if and when Lebron leaves Cleveland for the Lakers. This entire board will melt down.

I still think Lebron's backlash was worse.

I will conceed that. LeBron has gotten shite over a more prolonged period of time than KD. But I do believe what KD got last summer, and all season, was worse than what LeBron got in 2010

The first step is acceptance. Now we can get you help. I would recommend a support group but they didn't help me much with my Lebron hatred so they aren't great.

But seriously I just find KD as one of the most unique superstars ever. We've never seen anyone quite like this. That good but also that sensitive.

Maybe Rickey Williams who was ironically also a Longhorn? I don't know.

What's funny about the KD criticisms and jokes and it's likely 20 years from now people will be referencing trying to join a recent championship team in regards to what KD did.
