T-Wolves with Wiggins and KAT will be what the Pelicans could've been if they had just built through the draft. Benson is an idiot.

Middle of the alabama/LSU game, last thing I'd think anyone cares about are the TWolves

I always find these random arbitrary stats probably happened all of the time back in the day, but we didn't have the super dorks with powerful computers to find them.

Still, he's been better than I expected so far.

That doesn't even seem like that impressive of a stat.

Nothing against Towns, but thats averaging 15/8/3

Things like this always leave me shaking my head.

How many guys in the NBA had that stat line last year, in a full year?

0.

Anthony Davis was just a tiny bit shy, at 2.9 blocks.

It isn't like those scoring and rebounding numbers are garbage, either; 18.5 was good for 20th in the league last year, scoring, and 8.0 for 25th in rebounding.

If you lead the league in blocks, and are clipping in at top 50 in scoring, and Top 25 level as a rebounder-- and you are a rookie on a team that's a long way from being equipped to help you succeed right away--- that's a really great start.

not true

we weren't "bad enough" to truly deserve the #1 pick, and hten we were once in a lifetime lucky to have that #1 pick be a guy like AD. add that to a slightly more healthy gordon and we weren't going to be in "#1 pick" territory again.

we dealt the #6 pick and there wasn't many great options. we likely would have picked trey burke, who isn't good and certainly isn't wiggins

That's 2 strikes then. Can't say oh we would've picked someone else as an excuse. Could have had Noel and Payton instead of Holliday. On rookie deals. That's Demps though.

it's not an excuse it's reality. the NBA draft is a crapshoot. i don't mean that there are no "sure things", but year in, year out, there is a lot of volatility. and frick, the t-wolves didn't even draft wiggins

noel and AD would probably not work together. it's intriguing, but i don't think its' a winning combo (and we wouldn't have drafted him anyway). trading for proven players is just fine in building a team

just look at the rockets

On rookie deals.

jrue's deal isn't bad, esp the jrue we were sold (which was fraud, but the NBA is toothless). it is what it is

i deal a healthy jrue on that contract for those 2 picks 10/10 times, as would most GMs

that "rookie contract" shite is losing a lot of its luster, esp with the 76ers doing their thing. the thunder is the extreme exception (and they haven't even won a title). signing or trading for proven vets is still how the vast majority of title teams are built

You've been a jrue guy for years but Payton. + Noel wold have the pels In better shape going fwd than holiday. Something dell doesn't grasp is that rookie deals are the best value deals In the league. When you pay full price for All of your players you are disadvantaged.

Morey says the best value deals are rookie deals and max deals. Marks on Twitter say HOU has no bad contracts. I agree. They are always in poisition to make a move. Hopefully don't this year. Last few years have shown that chemistry beats talent.
