No. Kirby Smart is the best coach in cfb now that Saban is gone.

Bit of an advantage recruiting in Georgia, Louisiana and Florida over the Pacific Northwest.

I think if you go for the “pound for pound” argument, he is certainly in the conversation. When framed that way, I’d also throw Lance Leipold and Chris Kleiman in as well since I believe both could crush it at schools with more resources, but they are probably pretty comfortable and contempt with not being in a pressure cooker job

This isn't the NFL. Recruiting is the most important part of a college coach's job.

I think he's a very good coach, but I'll need to see him do it at the p5 level after dealing with a QB change. He did it this year with a lefty 6th year QB. Maybe in the new form of college football you can always count on a transfer QB coming in to save your team. But I'll need to see him navigate that before I'm willing to put him even into top 5 category.

As a Bama fan, I say DeBoer is #1.

The Athletic had an article on him today that made me think he is super legit. My type of HC. Calm, analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and an elite schemer/thinker. Basically he's a better and less douchey version of Lincoln Riley.

3 championships and lost in championship game twice in 9 years of head coaching. Thats pretty solid. i was hoping Bama would screw this up but i think they got it right.
