If Kaepernick had any intelligence (he obviously does not), he should have worn a t-shirt with the Bill of Rights on it and said "I've heard people say that what I'm doing is Un-American, but to the contrary, I'm exercising my freedom of speech without fear of persecution. What I'm doing is very American, and I'm doing this because I feel that I can help bring about change that we need. I don't hate America, I love the promise of our Constitution and I feel that I can help bring us to a better place
Yes, that would have been a fantastic idea to put ALL of that on a t-shirt.

I heard some comments he made that a Cosmetologist is required to do more training than a policeman.

Did I hear that correctly? If I did, it's the Police he's mad at? frick him.

I meant that Kap should have said that in the press conference. I edited it to try to make that clearer.

It is SF. They love communism. He may be able to run for mayor.

If he's going to continue to be disrespectful during the Anthem, he needs to stay in San Francisco. His refusal won't work anywhere west of there.

I know, I know, another Kap thread. But seriously how dumb is this guy.

I think he's ignorant more than dumb. My perception he was raised by white parents in a white world and now feels some guilt for that and is overcompensating by taking an extreme position that will make him seem "more black".

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this entire incident is 100% not about Kap trying to make a stand. This is about Kap realizing he's falling out of favor with the coaching staff and management and using this as a look at me moment so he can have an excuse when they cut his arse.

Perhaps he should study the 9ers playbook as hard as he's apparently been studying the BLM playbook.

There aren't many NFL teams west of SF...

Is that really a Malcom X hat or is that photo shopped. If that's real, he's really messing with you guys. I haven't seen anyone wear a Malcolm X hat or talk about Malcolm X since Spike Lee put out the movie. Well Spike wears them occasionally.

People all worked up over a damn 20 something year old athlete not standing for the National Anthem.

"NOW Ima put this "X" hat on to really piss them off"---Colin Kaepernick.

He's throwing all those shiny hooks and the general public is biting hard. It's becoming pretty humorous at this point.

this idiot sees "the movement" as just another fashion statement

The X hat really sells it. It's always the ones that aren't really black that are the radical ones...overcompensation

I seriously doubt the Japanese would give two shits if he stands for the US anthem or not.

Malcom X hat

The irony that Malcom X called any black man who voted for the Dems a chump, and now the groups that use him as a role model of sorts are 100% Democrat.

Sadly, there's a lot of people in this category. See: Idiots who were sporting Che Guevara shirts a couple years ago en masse.

I respect Kap's right to express his opinion and not stand for the National Anthem. But that doesn't mean I have to respect him and his half-assed attempt at drawing attention to issues he's speaking about. Especially when, outside of a couple of football camps, I don't see him doing dick with his fame to try to make changes in the community he's supporting. He can cry all he wants but it seems pretty damn hollow when he's just trying to cling to a roster spot.

You like everyone else in this thread are seriously reaching for any excuse to rationalize the cognitive dissonance you now are experiencing. Funny stuff though.
