It is the worst situation up here. Pastner should be fired and everyone agrees he should be fired. However, no one wants to write a 10 million dollar check. He essentially got a contract where the entire thing was a guaranteed. Further, there is no mitigation of the damages for firing him. Basically, if he was fired and got the job at UTSA, Memphis couldn't reduce what they owe him by what he is making. It is one of the most ridiculous contracts I've ever heard of. He will be paid the full amount no matter what happens in the future.
I say fire him but I'm not writing that check.

I can't remember if RC Johnson was still there or if it was the new AD when that contract was offered but anyone who was involved with it should've been fired already. One of the worst college athletics contracts ever

Memphis has a law school. From now on just get one of the first year law students to review any contracts.

Latest theory is that if Memphis were to leave the AAC for the Big 12, then they'd have to pay the AAC 10 million. So they can't pay Josh his 10 million to go away. So basically, he's the coach.

That rumor has been circulating on VOLS boards for a while now. I would shed a tear if that sweaty Jew went to Tiger High but I do believe he would win big there.
