Any major metro is dope central, to be fair. But as far as lineups he probably would fit in with Angels better, but would Pujols move to 4? That makes Detroit or White Sox in AL the better option. If he goes back to NL I think Atlanta or Philly is his best options. Reason I say Philly you could put him in behind Rollins and in front of Howard and they got to pitch to him. That would be disgusting lineup.

This. The Rangers shouldn't even have to drag this out. Let's get him somewhere else and move on.

Philly can't pay him, and Howard's not really a threat anymore, anyway. Atlanta would be huge for them, and Detroit isn't going to make another mega-offer. Angels are going to try to resign Greinke, but I still think the best bet is either Boston or the Mets.

You don't want him and Freese being pals. They'd feed off each other's vices and you'd have them both in rehab in three months
well during the celebration yesterday Freese was swimming in beer and champagne and not ginger ale...so it appears one has his "vices" under control

You do realize Howie came back early and will be in much better shape next year? I think with a full Spring he will get his timing back, with Hamilton in front of him, it would be even better.
I just am saying as a lineup sense it is better fit for Hamilton.

It's bad when Nolan Ryan calls him out publicly through a radio interview for being impatient at the plate, and not being disciplined, and instead of heeding Nolan's advice, he becomes even more impatient at the plate, swinging at every sinle first pitch he sees. I wonder what Billy B would say to him, 'this is money ball son, take pitches and get on base, hit a homer every now and then, or else I will trade your A..!' thanks for the memories, well the good ones anyway, but peace out homey!

The Hamilton saga is going to be interesting. He has an incredible story not only pissing away his career with the drugs, but also making the next to impossible comeback by overcoming his demons.
It seems to me that he is still haunted by the demons, and has to find major help in the offseason before anyone sinks the money he will command into his future. On one hand, he had a great season this year. On the other hand, everyone is left saying, "what if". Weird deal for an incredible talent that needs to find himself again.
If I am the Rangers, I do not sign him for more than a 2 year deal. Anything over 2 years, I am not interested.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that Lee was never coming back to Texas unless he got a 7 year deal and that the Rangers were not willing to give it to him under any circumstances?
Posted on 10/6/12 at 3:07 pm to Dr RC
And no one gave him a 7 year deal, he took less years and less money, compared to what Yankees and Rangers offered to go to Phillies. So obviously he didn't want to pitch for the Rangers, but they made a fine offer to Lee an increased the years and money after reports of what Yankees offered.

This.
And also his lack of discipline at the plate is incredibly frustrating.

If I were Daniels I'd go ahead and throw 2013 out the window. The prospects aren't yet ready (Profar, Olt, Perez)
You're a fricking idiot.

You're a fricking idiot.
Profar had only two hits after his debut. Perez got blown out his last three games.
If you put them on the roster in 2013 you're taking the risk that they won't be ready, and like Benji Gil never recover from being pushed too quickly through the system.
There's no chance of the Rangers getting to the playoffs next year anyhow (they're too offense-dependent and with Hamilton and Napoli gone it will get worse) so why push things?
