John Curtis junior tight end Glenn Beal has been suspended for two games by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association for an incident that occurred in last week’s playoff game against Rummel, multiple sources have confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

The LHSAA sent out an official ruling of the suspension late Wednesday, but redacted the player’s name, per their protocol.

In Friday’s Division I quarterfinals game at Zephyr Field, during a play, Beal tossed a Rummel player to the ground and then jabbed with his right hand through the player’s face mask three times, as seen in a video obtained by NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune. He was not flagged on the play by game officials.

With the ruling, Beal will not be allowed to play in Friday’s Division I semifinals game against Evangel, nor will he be eligible in the championship game if the Patriots were to make it past the Eagles. If Curtis loses Friday, Beal would be suspended for the season opener in 2017.

Beal currently has offers from several schools, including LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Miami (Fla.) and others, according to 247 Sports. Nationally, he is the 14th-rated tight end by the service from the Class of 2018.
