Nope, I'm a nurse. I'm guessing ECU and NCSU is on par with UK though, so that says a lot about their admission requirements.

But they aren't getting a degree from Duke. That's the entire point.

Exercise Science and Kinesiology in Education through the Holmes Program. I am no English major.

Still, your ECU Pirate degree does not excuse for a shitty take in your OP

That's an ECU degree if I've ever heard one.

I was working construction until the state hired me. Paid me to get my CNA certificate . Shitty pay, don't even care. I'm pretty much ascetic.

LINK

Direct link to NCAA page isn't working in the article but every player recruited to Duke from 2004-2007 eventually graduated.

Baw, don't even use the degree...been in the pharma world for 17 years and counting...my connections working with both UK and LSU athletics in sports medicine has done well for me...my favorite boss is a ECU grad...but Duke fan (I guess being a Pirate fan is not all that )

Sorry for you, I really am. Nice try. Never posted in a Nascar thread. Men driving around in a circle for 4 hours is hardly entertaining.

That graduation rate though

quote:

According to Derrick Jackson's 18 Mar 2014 article NCAA men’s basketball tournament teams see record graduation rates - The Boston Globe, Kentucky had an 82% graduation rate among men's basketball tournament teams.

quote:

The recent graduation rates for basketball players ranged up to 100% for seven colleges including Dayton, Duke, Harvard, Kansas, Villanova, Western Michigan, and Xavier to a dismal 8% for the University of Connecticut. Kentucky was 24th of a list of 68 listed.

I don't put too much stock in APR. I guess it all comes down to the same old argument of One-and-Dones vs. 4 year guys.

Personally, I'm interested in seeing quality basketball. The NCAA has been much better the last couple of years.

Cool. K didn't really begin to embrace the one and done guys until a few years ago, but sure.

Cal is still a fricking idiot. He see's the one-n-done culture coming around at Duke. The character and success after Duke is far better than UK

I know it wasn't your intent, and it is unrelated to the debate of Duke/UK, but I absolutely despise this article that was written by the Boston Globe. It drew a lot of ire from University of Wisconsin fans/students/alumni of the university.

Many students at schools like Wisconsin end up going for five-years because you apply into the school your intended major is in. Athletes, such as basketball players, are not like other students. When their athletic eligibility is up, and they are a class, semester, or year away from graduating, they either go to the NBA or play overseas.

What the Boston Globe fails to mention is that some universities, like Wisconsin, do not allow their athletes (i.e. basketball players) to take classes remotely. They must physically be on-campus. With this in mind, many players are only able to take a class or two during the summer (off-season) or wait until their playing days are done. It does, unfortunately, hurt the graduation rate, but does not tell the whole story.
