It sounds to me like Krzyzewski was just pointing towards Duke's excellent academics as a plus for kids who hoped to someday graduate.

None of these kids deciding between the two give a shite about that stuff. They want to be there for a year or two then go to the NBA. This isn't a CFB pitch where the kid has to be there for 3 years or more.

Honestly I think it is more of a shot at every coach, not just K. K's not the only coach making that sort of pitch most likely.

Gerald Henderson
Mason Plumlee
Kyrie Irving
Justise
McBob
Dahntay Jones
Luol Deng
My boo Kyle Singler

And I'm going to count Chip Engelland for the Spurs.

One All-Star in the entire bunch, who's team was garbage until LeBron showed up. Winslow is the only one on the list with any promise and was benched for the Heat's last game.

Henderson's a meh role player, Plumlee is garbage, McBob is an end of the rotation big, I didn't even know Dahntay Jones was in the league. Kyle Singler had like a negative PER this season.

Cal's pumping out All-Star and KAT just had the best rookie season in over a decade. Who gives a shite about a couple of role players.

Funny, Cal isn't winning a bunch of NC's with these all-stars. Cal isn't developing these players. Cal gets the elite talented "one and done" players because he's greasy as frick. They were going to succeed in the NBA regardless of who they played for during those 5 months of pretend college.

I'll stick with the coach with the most wins in NCAA history.

Cousins, Davis, Wall .. They may be all stars but their teams are all consistently underachieving. Wall especially is a paper tiger. I'll give Cousins a pass for being on a dysfunctional team.

One might point to the fact a single elimination tournament is absolute crap way to determine who the best team is. They've been to like 5 Final Fours while has been at UK . That is an absurd amount of success.

That isn't evenly remotely true. Go listen to what scouts said about KAT's one season at UK. WCS is also another perfect example.

He's going to have a damn 5'9" PG get selected in the top 20 this upcoming draft.

That just isn't remotely true. We see plenty of high major guys not figure it out at the next level like we would expect them to.

I agree with you for the most part although I think Plumlee is better than "garbage".

Cal's a great coach. I don't see how someone could argue otherwise.

Wall's been in the playoffs the last 2 seasons before this one and went to the 2nd round twice. They probably make the ECF last season if he doesn't break his hand.

Davis is a top 3-5 player in the league and played on a team littered with injuries.

Cousins is the only one I don't give a pass to. His team's should be much better than they are.

Most of Cal's UK guys are just too young to really consider them as type of guys that can really get your team to the next level. Just doesn't happen until year 3.

But KAT and Devin Booker will be future All-Stars. WCS and Lyles both had strong rookie seasons. Julius Randle averaged a double double in what was basically his rookie season.

Bledsoe is damn good, but can never stay healthy, same as MKG.

Brandon Knight's awesome.

Cal is petty. Has a huge ego. Tends to act like a kid sometimes.

Reminds me a lot of Trump
