I can't believe you just used the word "neutralize" to refer to a girl going to slap a dude on the face.
This isn't war or Call of Duty. She wasn't a threat to his life that had to be knocked the frick out.

Maybe you're missing that it seems clear that Mixon wasn't remorseful AT ALL until he was thinking of declaring for the draft/the video was going to be released.
