Is buying baking soda illegal? If someone sold me a puppy but was telling me it's cocaine, would I go to jail?

I think it funny how he can be arrested buying baking soda just because he thought it was cocaine. Seems like they would actually have to catch him buying cocaine.

Doesn't it deal with conspiracy laws maybe? Need to get some law guys to chime in on why they can charge him.

It wasn't his intent to buy baking soda

I'm glad we're keeping guys like this off the streets. That'll teach him

doubt they have enough to hold him since it's not illegal to buy baking soda

If you shot at a person, with intent to kill, is that a crime.

Does anybody else agree with me that if you're of the stature and fame of the McEnroe clan in NYC that the most embarrassing part of this wouldn't be the arrest but the nationwide knowledge that you were paying prime $$$ for baking soda?
How could you even look your friends or social circle in the eyes again? The 3 chicks that you had been macking on?

Not sure that logic is the same..

Trying to commit a crime is usually illegal, even if you fail miserably.
