Jimbo Fisher on NIL Deals

Via Pardon My Take: Claims that combined NIL deals across all sports at A&M totaled ~$1 million. I believe him as he has no reason to lie at this point.
I think a lot of these figures said by some are incredibly inflated. Rich people are rich because they’re good with money. They’re not throwing $1 million at 1 recruit that won’t provide that return through advertising.
Take it for what you will, but I believe him. Also, further proof that LSU CAN compete in NIL for you doubters.

no chance that is accurate

I've said that all along. LSU has plenty enough NIL. Although Jimbo is full of shite on the $1 million number.

You haven’t met very many rich people

Only 1MM for that class?
I still sort of doubt it.
Maybe not 30MM as reported, but Jimbo is still trying to protect his image as a master recruiter here and not admit he paid for a bunch of players.

Opposite. He has every reason to lie because if they spent tens of millions, which is more likely, then it makes him look worse that he couldn’t win

If he’s telling the truth, they must’ve been paying a ton “under the table.”

I thought he said they didn't spend any money on NIL and that all the players just wanted to come there?

He is unquestionably lying.

Across ALL sports? There are 85 scholarships just for the football team alone. That would be less than 15k per football player which does not seem close to accurate.

Livvy Dunne makes that every month

Hes trying go make it seem like they got that class and classes because of him and his staff.
There is no way that # is true, considering the amount of sources spilling the beans at many universities. Miami booster was bragging about the huge deals he was offering to the qb and another kid.
Even mason Smith saying casually in an interview "my parents don't have to worry about $ anymore, its a very big deal. They worked their life and can now be at ease more with things " - paraphrasing but that would be life changing money. That's not 12k a yr which 85 kids into 1mm is.

When has Jimbo Fisher ever been truthful with the media? He's 100% lying his arse off. Ryan day said it takes around 10-12 million to keep an elite roster. Matt Rhule recently said it costs over a million for a good QB. That seems much more accurate.

What he wants you to believe is it was him that recruited those players. Not the money
Posted on 1/5/24 at 10:03 am to LSUTigerFan1996
A lot of promises are made in the NIL space. "You could make up to..." is said a lot to these kids.

Are numbers of NIL incredibly inflated? I’d imagine so.
Was A&M forking out a million bucks combined across all their sports? NOT. A frickING. CHANCE.

LOL. He's lying. Of course he is going to say it was way below what it really was. He will look worse than he already does for not being able to win with what he bought.

I think there is a difference between money offered up front in recruiting deals vs the total earnings of the athlete once they get to campus. The number of total earnings by all of the athletes I would think is more than that figure.

I might have believed it if he said 10 mil but even that's probably low
