ETA: there's one of the coaches that was in on it

BREAKING: Michigan has released linebackers coach Chris Partridge. Rick Minter to LBs coach. #GoBlue

The NCAA presented Michigan with evidence that:

A booster named “Uncle T” allegedly funded part of Connor Stalions scouting operation.

An assistant coach attempted to destroy evidence after the scandal broke.

Wow

Michigan release:

No hearing tomorrow. Jim Harbaugh will sit out Maryland and Ohio State.

Interesting. A guy our office works with purports to be well-connected with insiders. I was told earlier today the conference wanted no part of a hearing and something would be negotiated. I figured Michigan might bully them into getting him back by Ohio State. That's fair IMO if there is nothing else.

But in return, the Big Ten closes its investigation.

I don't think the Big Ten had any intention of doing anything else from a discipline standpoint.
Appeasing the other members by making Michigan taking responsibility now was in best interest of the conference. On top of that if Michigan does make playoffs than they don't hurt the conference by not allowing them to play.

Now, what the NCAA does, who knows. Maybe they accept the Big Ten suspension and/or make Michigan vacate some wins if it can be determined which games the cheating took place and if there is additional games tacked on to Harbaugh suspension he serves it for some patsy non conf games next season or he's coaching da Bears in the NFL.

They beat Penn St by running thirty straight times, I don't think you need any sign stealing to close out a game that way.

LOIC is likely coming from the NCAA at some point due to the previous violations that haven't been ruled on.

And admitted they don't have anything linking Harbaugh to the allegations.

I actually think this shows he's staying with Michigan. I think we hear about his extension shortly. No way he accepts this if he knows he's off to the NFL.

Well that sucks...if he came back for the big one, the circus atmosphere and buildup would've been through the roof.

I wonder if they let him back for the Big10 Championship game if they beat OSU?

He’ll probably voluntarily sit out that game. Harbaugh doesn’t want any of that Iowa smoke from Ferentz.

You don't accept this if you didn't do anything wrong

This seems sketchy to me.

I'm starting to wonder if there was some smoke to the point fixing rumors.

i have been consumed by the story, listening to too many podcasts and reading too much on it.

I haven't found any details on this claim but both Staple and Steven Godfrey mentioned it in the last week or so. Take it with a grain of salt.

Basically, every big 10 school has an axe to grind with Michigan because they have been quick to whine to the NCAA and/or big 10 about recruiting violations.

Similar to how they whined publically about Rashan Gary getting offered to go to Clemson. Of course, he played Michigan for free per the same insiders.

What am i saying is it sounded like the rest the big 10 was very happy to throw this shite in michigan's face. I wish Harbaugh would have fought this to extend the drama

He's probably just confident that his team with beat Ohio State even if he's not out there. Doesn't want to be a distraction.

Big Ten/Michigan/Harbaugh agreement essentially ends the battle, at least for now.

B10 gets its three game suspension of Harbaugh.

Michigan/Harbaugh don't have to fear future suspensions should they get into playoff and further evidence or allegations arise.

OR

Michigan wanted the investigation closed and agreed to take the suspension if the Conference stopped snooping.

It can be spun all kind of ways.

The conference can now say they successfully punished big bad Michigan and appease both the conference and Michigan.

I'm VERY much going to be pulling for this way more than I would have if he were coaching.
