Curlin is one of the most successful studs going these days. Rachel Alexandra is one of the most successful fillies ever in the history of horse racing. They bred them in hopes of creating a super horse. Unfortunately they cursed the newborn horse with an awful name and he's just now making his track debut.

Thanks Haughton. The colt had some minor injuries and that delayed his debut as a 2 and 3 year old.

2 time horse of the year bred to another horse of the year. If he runs like his sis he could be a good one.

After breaking slowly, he was 12-15 lengths behind at the 1/2 mile pole and mowed them down to get the win first asking. Very nice win. The horse was not breathing hard either.

3/1 too. Must not be trained by Pletcher. What was this a three-year-old maiden race?

Rachel Valentenia is the 2 year old trained by Pletcher. Stonestreet took the colt out of Asmussen's barn because of the PETA nonsense involving Nehro.

A shame we only got 2 out of her, but I'm excited they both won 1st out at Saratoga!

it was a very nice debut and he certainly out finished the field, but I would like to see him against winners. Call me stubborn, but I am a bit suspicious of 1 1/8 dirt MSWs. Even those at Saratoga. God knows the Amercan TB needs a few stayers/plodders too, though

I'm just glad they both broke their maiden. So many of the monster mares (but not all, don't go all dance smartly or personal ensign on me) don't seem to produce much. She's got 100% winners. I just wish the filly wasn't by bernardini. He's not my favorite.

Asp, if Barbaro didn't break down, would Bernadini be an alleged top stallion. (BTW, I am not a fan of his pedigree either). I say no because Barbaro was a freak

It seems to me like his babies have about 3 great races in them then nothing. Maybe I'm being biased. I just do t like him as much as everyone else does.

What could have been with Barbaro...

I love the dynaformers and don't feel like he really has a standout son to take over from him...

What a crazy trip. Its like the gate opened and he didn't know what to do and then just kicked it in gear and came from nowhere for the win. Impressive.
