it was a pretty classless thing to do IMO.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was a mistake. Morey has said several things on accident that imply Lin is already gone. He speaks as if Houston already has cap space for a max contract.

I think he is working so aggressively to improve this team that respecting a guy like Lin just isn't on his mind.

Someone probably suggested shopping a Melo picture with his classic #7 on it and everyone thought "of course" instead of thinking about Lin.

What are they going to do, photoshop a jersey without his number on it? They are courting a top 10 player to play for them, their backup point guard's feelings should be the last thing on their minds

Why would they hate playing with each other?
People forget Melo's best basketball was playing for team USA. They will both be more efficient having another elite player for defenses to worry about

Opposing offenses will love them playing together though.

I'll give Morey one thing: he doesn't appear to have human emotions. He is cold-blooded. Which I respect.

This is the stupidest "controversy" ever.

You're courting a bonafide superstar. Should they have changed his jersey number?

"Yea Melo, i know 14 isn't your number, but we didn't want to offend our back up point guard on your account"

I'm glad Morey doesn't give two shits about the feelings of insignificant players. If Melo had Patrick Beverly's number, that number would have been on the billboard. Parsons number? On the billboard, etc...

Other than 13 and 12, Melo gets whatever number he wants.

@DreamShakeSBN: ESPN: We're gonna ride this Lin and 7 thing until Melo realizes the only sane thing to do is sign with the Lakers.

Asik is a huge get for y'all. He is absolutely dominant defensively. Anthony Davis and him playing together is terrifying.

He had a little trouble with Aldridge

He doesn't match up well with Aldridge at all
That's why him and AD will do well together, AD with athleticism and Asik with post presence/ rebounding

He's not a PF. He was playing PF by default because the Rockets' regular PF's were terrible. He would usually be under the rim and not out by the 3-point line defending jumpers.

And in all honesty he didn't do bad. Aldridge was making some ridiculous shots the first 2 games that were closely contested. Can't do anything about that.

The Melo love expressed by so many NBA teams is comical, he is a defensive windmill, and sort of a pouty quitter at times.

Harden and Howard seem to the eye to be a great fit for him, and they in need of that go-to SF, but Harden much like Melo is an Offensive All-Star that doesn't always carry his own weight defensively. And Howard despite glass cleaning and blocks, can at times not own the paint to the degree he could/should night to night/gm to gm in a series. Loved Melo at Cuse, with Warrick and Boeheim's bunch, but as a pro, it's getting deep into his career timeline, and he hasn't developed those defensive nor playoff savvy chops, didn't really impress me as a Nugget nor Knick, didn't think the parts around him in Denver to be as lacking as painted to be.

Think Thibs and his Bulls roster could much better hide Melo's flaws, and have his exploits on the Offensive end, make him appear a much better and/or complete player during Playoff ball..than most other suitors.

That, or Miami, OKC,etc..think Melo will need another All-Star to be the main go-to guy, if he is to win an NBA Title..don't think he has the "it factor" he had as a college Frosh to win a crown at this level.

I agree.

But if anyone would have the fire power to overcome bad defense, it would be that Rockets team.
