Saquon can’t even get 1/5th of Jalen’s. I’d imagine he’s a significantly more popular athlete. Crazy the difference in leagues.

And he can't get out of the ECF. Joker will get close to $100M/year when he needs to resign. Book it.

A good #2 option in basketball is way more impactful in their sport than a running back is.

how is the second option making more money than the first option, if I'm Tatum I'm demanding a contract renegotiation

Jaylen is a good player, but that is a massive overpay for a guy who just had like 10 turnovers in game 7 of the ECF.

The way the CBA is set up, the teams have to spend their money on someone. There's a surplus of money and a deficit of star players, so pretty good players end up getting paid like stars.

How the frick are the Celtics supposed to sign the mid tier borderline all star types needed to win a title when a contract like that means they will only be able to afford vet min role players?

a. He can't renegotiate or get the same money as Brown right now

b. He'll get his own supermax when he's eligible

the only thing I can think of is the Celtics plan on blowing the team soon, and trading either brown or Tatum if they don't get finals next year

Supermax contracts are a % of the salary cap (which is determined by revenue). This has the same impact any other sueprmax contract has ever had. It's just that revenue is at an all-time high, so these deals are at an all time high. Each year the supermax will be larger.

It's just a matter of timing. At one point Mike Conley was the highest-paid player in the NBA.

Can he get the same amount or more money than jaylen, and are the Celtics gonna wanna go that far into tax for two players that haven't proven anything
