James Harden Vs Lebron James On Resting

James Harden
and
Lebron James
I know I know Lebron is 3-4 in the NBA finals and James Harden has 0. Correct, but has James Harden had the luxury of hand picking his dreams to go to those finals with like Lebron? Its pretty easy to go to the finals every year when you can choose to play with wade and bosh then when they're too old you bounce and go to kyrie and andrew wiggins(who got dealt for love). James Harden right now is Lebron pre-miami where he's having to do it all for his team so you cant hate him for that. This was about each guys perspective on rest, and James seems to actually understand what he's paid to do.
quote:
"I'm a hooper," Harden said. "I just want to hoop. I'll rest when I'm done. I feel like my teammates and organization need me to go out there and do what I do. I get obviously paid for it, but it's something I love. I enjoy the grind. I enjoy how hard it is. I think that makes you tougher. That makes you who you are."
and
Lebron James
quote:
"I don't think the NBA can do anything about it," James said following the Cavs' 125-120 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. "At the end of the day, it sucks at times where certain guys have to rest, but certain guys need rest.

That's just the CC mentality

James is the ultimate competitor. He loves the game of basketball that's why he doesn't take any games off and is the leading mvp whole Lebron is not.

James is gonna lead the league in minutes played for the third straight season. 0 missed games due to injury or rest. And tough as all get out. We're lucky to have him.

That's how we do it in CC bubba

That's awesome he has all those titles, surely if James Harden teamed up with 2 other superstars IN HIS PRIME, 2012 was not his prime, like James did in Miami and Cle then perhaps he could have just as much hardware.

LBJ just knows how unimportant the regular season is.

If Harden goes to 7 straight finals, I'm going to guess he'll feel differently at Lebron's age and I don't think anyone should have a problem with that.

Im not bitching, Im posting quotes from 2 superstars. Before you say Harden plays no D so he doesn't get tired, look up defensive win shares and check where harden is ranked, its higher than you think ahead of defensive player of the year marc gasol at #15
and the big one
he's at 10.5 offensive wins shares #1 in the league while westbrook is at 7.2

I didn't say anything about harden's defense, nor was I going to.

Im not a huge Harden fan, but you've got to give it to the dude. He plays every single night like the same way. LBJ is a puss.

James doesn't need stars around him to win.
Thats why he stayed in Houston.
He wants to win it on his own.
Never missed playoffs, ever.

He has three NBA Championships, has played in over a half-decade worth of NBA Finals in a row, has four MVP awards, and owns the second-highest PER of all-time.

I try not to defend LeBron, but I'm on his side of the argument. He's playing more minutes than ever at this age and the regular season means nothing.
Also, it's easy for Harden to say that when he only puts in effort on one side of the court.

did karl malone and john stockton not play the same type of minutes in their careers? Those guys never took nights off and were always in the playoffs too

What's more important: racking up regular season wins or being healthy and rested for the playoffs?
ETA: I'm looking forward to the spin job when Harden gets older and inevitably takes games off. I'm sure OP will be back to explain the difference.
