Y'all are underrating how smart a play this is by Harden. MCW was defending illegally, but it isn't blatant; it is subtle enough to go mostly unnoticed away from the ball like that. Harden fell on top of him to draw attention to the two. The officials looked, and they see a defender making contact with his arms out against an offensive player. Foul on defense. Correct call.

If that is illegal by the defense then there is a foul on every possession of the game.

Nah. Rare to see a guard at that point to defend that way. Standard is to be a foot or two off Harden up the path to the ball, ball-side hand in the path. You don't defend with your arse unless a shot goes up.

Just further reason why I won't return to watching basketball. The NBA product is the worst in sports. Build 2-3 mega teams, fouls called over absolutely nothing (especially if it's against a star), if NBA stars got called for fouls like the other NBA players they would foul out every night. I used to love the gave but how no traveling and carrying calls exist is a joke.

I have a handful of buds who were like you but after 10-15 HOU games they are now back into NBA. And the rockets specifically.

Ever consider they just say that to get you to shut up?

Don't be afraid to take a peek. The NBA is by far in its best shape since Jordan. Today's game is much more entertaining than 10 years ago's game.

Those calls in particular have actually gone up the past 2-3 years, I think.

I think it's a smart play by Harden. MCW was backing up into Harden and Harden just kind of let him so that he'd get the call.

They don't play defense anymore. It's pathwtic. And before you bring out some stat about less points, less efficient scoring and worse skill doesn't equal better defense being played

The problem with the nba right now is that it is a foregone conclusion what two teams will be in the finals and really what team is going to win it all. Hard to take the season serious.

There was no undercut no denying space harden literally climbed onto MCWs back and the refs did what they alway do. They blew it NBA refs are the same as WWE refs. They're an absolute joke and they discredit that league. The NBA is totally rigged.

Wait, are you saying traveling, stars getting calls. And super teams are a new thing?

All of that has been a core fabric of the game for a loooooong time.
