James is maybe the best player in league history at drawing fouls. He went to see the guys at P3 out in Santa barabara and they found that among all NBA players he is average athletically except he's elite of elite at deceleration. James uses these guys momentum, swipes at the ball, etx against them in a way that we just haven't seen before.

Here you go shae

In Harden's case, his athletic profile is very similar to the average NBA guard assessed. Looking at high-level performance metrics, he is generally right in the middle of the pack. Still, despite lacking obvious, elite athletic qualities, Harden has made a career out of keeping the defense off-balance -- creating space when it suits him and drawing the defender into a foul when the opportunity presents itself. "He has astoundingly consistent spikes in metrics associated with a single characteristic -- braking," Elliott says of Harden. "He has the best all-around NBA braking system we've ever measured."

There was nothing in that clip except blatant favoritism. He is a bitch, no excuses.

Nope Defender can't undercut James to keep him from going where he wants.

I officially concede. I can no longer support Westbrook for MVP. It is Harden's to lose at this point. Clear #1.

I mean Harden clearly did that on purpose, but the reason it was a defensive foul is because the offensive player has the right to the space he's occupying.

MCW stuck his butt out and was pushing him. An offensive player isn't required to push back, and if the defensive player pushed him off his spot, it's a foul.

Like I said, in reality, Harden could have stood his ground.

I tell you what Isaiah Thomas is on westbrooks heels and I can see him jumping harden if he keeps up the 4th qtr scoring like we've been seeing. Unreal what he is doing late in games.

So every time a defender fronts the opposing offensive player just run through it and climb on their back?

That's not a foul dude. No amount of butt would cause a 200+ lb mass of muscle to get lifted off the ground onto the defenders back.

They (boston) have had a favorable schedule recently. lot of home games. only 6 of the next 20 are at home including a lot of games on the road vs the West. will know more in about 6 weeks.

Not running through it. But standing your ground. Yeah, it's a foul. It's the same when an offensive player backs down a defender and the defender stands his ground and falls down when he gets bumped. It's a charge.

A player has the right to occupy his space.

It's a "cheap" tactic if you wanna call it that.

Correct call. MCW initiated contact and impeded progress with his arms out--it's illegal to defend that way. With his arms out, the minute MCW's arse touched Harden, the foul has been committed. Harden falling on top of MCW was extra-curricular.

I recommend watching some HOU games. I have a handful of buds who were like you but after 10-15 HOU games they are now back into NBA. And the rockets specifically.
