quote:

Bailey-Cole, who also won Olympic 4x100m gold alongside Usain Bolt at London 2012, said his girlfriend noticed the bump on his neck after he had a haircut.

"I was experiencing back pains and muscle soreness, but I thought it was just soreness from the exercises I was doing," the sprinter said.

"Recovering is not easy. The rashes are still on my body, my eyes hurt, but the best thing is that I am not feeling any muscle pain at the moment."

The discovery comes as Bailey-Cole is preparing for next week's Jamaican Olympic trials, where he will face the likes of Bolt, Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake for a place in Rio.

"[I am] going to trials with the mindset that I am healthy and ready," he added.

The Zika virus isn't that bad unless your pregnant.
A lot cases don't even show any symptoms whatsoever

It's also been linked to Guillan Barre.

Or have a wife trying to get pregnant. It's transmitted sexually

One of the weirder diseases from onset to prognosis I've read about. Kid in my hometown had it, and from the pictures, he went from normal, to almost useless/death, to normal.

Can run the gamut from killing you, to showing effects throughout life, to shrugging it off with treatment. Just weird.

My grandfather died of it, indirectly. He lay in the hospital for weeks, couldn't breathe on his own for a while, and was finally coming out of it when a blood clot felled him, probably from lack of circulation in his legs due to inactivy. This was in the seventies, and they didn't closely monitor that sort of thing like they do now.

A former coworker got it a couple of years ago and was pretty bad off. They used a new treatment on him that's similar to dialysis-they completely filtered all the blood in his body two or three times and he was home a few days later.
