He also suffered a severe concussion at Cal, but has not sued them or the NCAA. Instead, he will be working at Cal, and therefore be a member of the NCAA.

so you're mad that he isn't suing MORE people?

I'm not mad about anything. Not sure how you ascertained that.

Do you not see the inconsistency of his argument though?

I guess Best missed the cutoff date to join the litigation that was already brought?

Thats what makes the lawsuit bullshite.

He wants to blame people for his decision, but not the people that are just as responsible as the NFL because they are giving him a check

Ok so what i've gathered from today is that td.com both hates unions

His beef is with his union, not the nfl. He's suing the wrong party.

How can you make an argument for a union?

Pretty easily. Workers are at a disadvantage in negotiations, not just for salary but all sorts of things. Unionization allows workers to collectively bargain and level the negotiation's playing field away from a power relationship dominated by the employer into something more equitable.

sure but that doesn't mean his suit against the NFL lacks merit. He'll have his day in court and we'll find out if this was a money grab or if he has a legitimate case.

Exactly. Plus Cal was where he originally had his first serious head trauma.

But the nfl is writing checks right now and he has his hand out.

This is nothing more than someone looking for something for free and trying to play a system.

I'm surprised he hasn't been fired by Cal for this lawsuit. It would be hard for Cal to trust him after this crap, not to mention seems like a conflict of interests.

Best's lawyer is hoping for a wrongful termination suit to hit them with.

I'd imagine that Cal is an "at-will" employer. Doesn't that mean they can terminate you at any time for any reason?

No. If you ran a football program, would you want a guy on your staff who is suing the organization that most of your student athletes aspire to be part of.

He chose to keep playing football. He knew he had a big big concussion history. there was plenty of concussion information out there in 2010 and has a huge reason to check into that information.

How is the NFL at fault again?

also how am I a woman hating racist against labor laws? really curious about that one

Yeah that's a ridiculous question

Never fire a guy that will sue you as soon as you stop giving him a paycheck. Might as well sign him to a lifetime contract

That complete post right there is frickING bullshite!!!

I dont know if you're in a union or not but I am and my company is 100% union. The unions have run their course and serve zero purpose in todays work force.

I will meet with you at any union hall with a full evening of back and forth and we can go over the list of bullshite you believe as gospel.

Our society will be better off ten fold as soon as the last union in this country is no more.

They're an archaic way of handling business in todays society.

I am going to stop this shite as im not going to get into this on a message board.

You want a perfect example of union effectiveness, look at Detroit and its current economic situation.

I'm sure that's what the NFL's lawyers will say. How about we actually wait to see what evidence he provides before deciding the above is fact?
