I’m not sure there’s ever been a better pitching run than his from 1992 through 1995

LINK

The fact that he only walked 999 batters in 22 years, while winning over 350 games and recording over 3300 strikeouts, is one of the most incredible stats in sports history. He had a 300 inning stretch across parts of two seasons in which he walked only 31 batters.

I still don’t know how the Braves didn’t win more World Series in the 90s

Did someone’s team get their corners painted?

Guy was a pitching savant, I don’t think there has been someone who knew so much about the art of pitching as Maddux

I agree with this… but over all Greg is one
If the best of all time.. his control was just unreal.

You're not wrong. But he and Glavine took advantage of it and to complain about it makes it look like you're melting.

The 96 team was loaded and had an all time staff at their best and even won the 1st two games of the WS AT NY and then just fell abate.

Pedro is one of my favorite players of all-time, but he wasn't better than peak Maddux. No one was except for Randy Johnson.

He was a total dick head to me in st Louis in the late 90’s

I’m 9-10 or so. Can’t remember what year it was

Staying at the adams mark hotel where the braves stay . We would go every summer the braves would come to St. Louis ( my mom had a huge crush on Javy Lopez )

My dad and I were awaiting the elevator to go downstairs and get autographs .

Greg Maddox walks up… it’s the 3 of us at this elevator on our floor

I am starstruck and ask mr Maddux for his autograph and he crushes my spirit with “ sorry kid, I stopped doing autographs a half hour ago”

My dad called him words I haven’t ever heard him say and haven’t heard him say since that day. I thought he was literally going to assault Greg.

We did not take the elevator with him downstairs

Held a grudge ever since

I see a ton of swings and misses as well as a lot of corners getting painted. You think the umpires gave a single team better strike zones but only for the pitchers?

Can’t agree here. What Pedro did pitching in the AL with the DH was simply amazing.
