The more I think about those Heat teams, the more I'm convinced they're inferior to this Cavs team. The individual players/talent was probably greater, but their style wasn't as complimentary to LeBron's game as this current Cavs team. The spacing wasn't nearly as good as it is today, and their perimeter shooters pale in comparison too.

The Heat teams played much better defense, but is that enough to put them ahead of this current roster?

I was having this discussion with someone earlier.

He might have had better "teams" in Miami, in terms of talent and coaching. However, I think the way LeBron is playing right now, along with the spacing you mentioned might put this Cavs team over the top.

Those Heat teams definitely had to go through stronger opponents in the East, so maybe it's a little hard to compare.

Their defense is really pretty putrid. Boston and others have had tons of open looks, but they cannot convert them. GS is a different animal altogether.

But this offense...

No.

Probably is the best perimeter shooting team he's had though.

The 2013 Heat is the best team LeBron's ever been on period.

Can't wait for Lebron to lose his first postseason game and this board do a 180 and call him a choker and defenders of him will say this Cavs team has no talent

Even if this is his best team ever, he'll be going up against one of the greatest teams of all time in the Finals. They're prohibitive favorites.

This is his best team playoff performance ever but 2012-13 Miami Heat best team, cmon 66-16 with a 27 game winning streak that's unmitigated domination of the association and wins the NBA title hard to surpass.

Yeah they were great because they played at that level the entire season/playoffs. The current Cavs have proven they're singularly focused on the playoffs only. Their current playoff offensive rating is 119.4 - the highest by 4 points since at least 1994.

I don't think this team is capable of doing that during an entire season, but I'm also not sure if the 2012-13 Heat are capable of playing at this level at their peak.

I think this is second best behind the '13 Heat team. '11 and '12 were more top heavy without the same talent from 4-10. The '14 team just fell apart over the course of the season and none of the Cavs teams in his first stint there are even close.

Too bad they're facing the most loaded team in NBA history.

It could be the way they are playing right now.... BUT This doesn't fit with ANY MJ/BRON talk... MJ NEVER left Chicago to go FIND A better team to get a chance to win.... Bron has done this twice and cries like A bitch to get certain players to help him win... MJ never did this.... He played the hand he was dealt with .... And went 6-0 in the finals.....

Look at the Eastern Conference standings from this season. Then realize there's no way to determine how good the Cavs are compared to past years just because they are killing mediocre teams right now.
