Is there really an elite team this year in CFB?

Any team who makes the Final 4 has a great shot to win it all. I don't see a clear favorite.

Bama, like most year's is still the most complete team.

I think they're the strongest top to bottom.

But I also wonder if there's a current team that could be competitive with the Nebraska/Florida/Florida State teams of the 90's. I'm not sure there is.

Clemson has been the best and most consistent all year.

Meyer and Saban are better coaches than Bowden and Spurrier ever were especially in big games. I seriously doubt either of them would get blown out. Now Nebraska OTOH is a totally different story. Those teams were unbeatable.

The Era of complete teams is over. Too much parity across the board for any one team to dominate in all phases of the game throughout the season.

Do you not see what Alabama is doing to the 8th ranked team?

It's a very weak year in CFB. Bamas defense is elite, but I'm still not sold on Coker.

Even as a Clemson fan I don't think we're elite. When we hit our stride (Miami and 1st quarter of Notre Dame) we're pretty incredible, but we're not as consistent as I'd like to be. We also don't have a ton of depth.

There's no truly elite team this year IMO.

Ducked the SEC and played 2 games per year. frick them and frick Bowden. That was the most overrated program of that era.

Were you sold on Sims or GMac or AJ his first season? Hopefully Kiffin has learned his lesson and pounds Henry if Alabama makes the playoff again. What happened last year was a damn crime.

You know that every single one of those guys is better than Coker.

Lsu. LF for heisman. He is going to run all over Bama to the natty. They're winning it all. Have you seen that Oline? They're going to maul everyone over. And they finally have a competent QB and a good DC.

Crap, today is the 21st of November, not the 6th.

No. I've been saying all year that there is not a #1 team.

Without a doubt. But, Kiffin has found his sweet spot. If Coker has to throw 30+ times, he's miserable. But he's turned into a fine game manager. Plus, there isn't a team who will make the playoff that can shut down Alabama's run game, even though it can be inconsistent. Alabama is a pretty balanced team because of that.
