Nebraska basketball?

Oregon State basketball made me think of this after they made the tourney for the first time in forever this year.

Most programs you'll see play every so often on tv or at least mentioned in analysis, they have had some historical success, or had individual alumni that had gone pro. I can't think of any of this with Nebraska basketball.

The last I remember anything from them was when Bo Spencer transferred there, and that was just because of the local LSU connection. Can you think of any other programs like this?

Wazzu basketball is worse than NU and never shown on television. The last time they were mentioned much was when Sampson was their coach.

Penn State makes runs and upsets people about once every other year.

I do not know if Rice or UTEP can be put into this any more. The only thing people talk about for Rice is the Blue Curtain of Death in Autry.

You don't remember Calvin Booth? You don't remember them upsetting the Calbert Chaney Indiana team?

They beat UNC as a 10 seed when they had joe crispin he played for the Suns for a bit. I think UnC has Raymond Felton on that team

I feel like they have been talked about pretty often in recent years fighting for a tourney spot. Big market might be a cause of this.

I thought this was about major conference teams you don't think about and I just never think about them.

Actually talked to him for a minute in the mall in Dallas when he was with the Mavs.

That's my Calvin Booth CSB

They are terrible.

They were good and made some noise in the NCAA tournament when Tony Bennett was their coach. But like all good coaches that WSU finds, they end up leaving for greener pastures.

The only power conference team to have never made the NCAA Tournament. That is impressive.

They were relatively decent this year. I think they were terrible the two years before that. I don't understand how they're so bad though historically, they must put absolutely nothing into the program financially.

I got hired by them in NCAA 2K8 and took them to Duke levels of success. So it obviously can be done

Wazzu was mentioned a lot when Bennett was there. They were much better than during the Sampson era and made a Sweet Sixteen.

The only reason I knew that Nebraska basketball even existed (outside of the obvious assumption) is when a local kid that we played against in high school signed there.

I probably would have said TCU basketball, but then they made some news with they hired Jamie Dixon.

Ken Bone killed Bennett's momentum, then they made it worse by hiring re-tread Ernie Kent.

An inordinate amount of sports journalists went to Northwestern, they and Syracuse are premier schools for that field. That's why they are discussed.

I know you mentioned football and basketball, but I don't think I've ever seen or heard anything about Ohio State baseball.
