Looking at the minnesota timberwolves, they are LOADED with talent. They easily have enough talent and youth to make waves in the West.

Here's your young crop of stars
Andrew Wiggins
Karl Anthony Towns
Ricky Rubio
Zach LaVine
Shabazz Muhammad

Mixed with veteran stars and or leadership
Kevin Garnett
Tayshaun Prince
Kevin Martin
Andre Miller

Yet they are 17-37. How is that even possible?

He's terrible. That's a given. But the Lakers are obviously tanking. How many more lottery picks does Minnesota need?

Rumor is that Thibs and the TWolves already been talking.

Thibs with that young talent is very intriguing, if he doesn't run them into the ground.

Young teams don't win in the NBA.

Mitchell sucks, but you have to remember the circumstances behind him being named head coach.

their old guys are too old and the young guys are too young?

Scott and Gentry are probably worse though...

Exactly. They didn't win a playoff series until Curry was 26.

It's not like Sam was hired, his circumstances of being head coach is unlike any other. I believe Flip would've done some special things with that team. Unfortunately we will never find out.

I don't think he's a great coach but he was thrown into a pretty tough situation aside from the talent. Also young players don't just gel overnight in the NBA. It's going to take a few years of guys like Wiggins and Towns playing together

Rubio and Shabazz are trash on offense. Wiggins can't shoot for shite. Lavine is the worst defender in the NBA. This team isn't as good as you think.

They arguably have the best young roster in the league (GS is veteran at this point), but their talent hasn't come close to developing yet.

- Wiggins is overrated. He's a pretty good scorer but can't really shoot, and he adds little as a rebounder and passer. He's 102nd in PER
- KAT is a great young player and should win ROY. He's their best piece for sure
- Rubio is a really good passer but can't score. He's shooting 36% from the field.
- Lavine is improving, but he's a work in progress. Not sure what his ceiling is
- Shabazz has been overrated since college, not a fan of his

They do have a nice mix of vets, but can you argue that they should be any better than 10th in the West? They're currently 13th, but I could see them finishing ahead of the Pels, Nuggets and Kings

There are actually 19 teams that have a younger average age. The Timberwolves actually have a higher average age than the Warriors.

It took 3-4 years for Westbrook/Durant to takeoff at OKC.

KAT is off that caliber, Wiggins has an extremely long way to go to be considered in that echelon.

So they are a young team with one star, who is a rookie.

Worst are Mitchell and Scott. Mitchell won't be the head coach next year. He's really bad and definitely wasn't who Minnesota had designed to coach them. Year 3 (of Wiggins) with a good coach I wouldn't be shocked to see them make a playoff run.
