He's a free agent after 2017 and will probably command 30 mil per year . You think they will keep him or let him walk?

Your guess is as good as mine.

The Rangers could have a rash of injuries, fall out of contention early and trade him at the deadline. They could offer him one of those Greinke type extensions with an opt out clause and he could take it. Who knows really. They certainly have the money and if the Rangers continue to win, I don't see why he would want to leave.

I'll never forget the "Japanese fade".

Who coined that on here? Nugget?

He's not the same since the last surgery.

For what he brings he's not worth the money.

Too many injuries

He was up and down, something that a majority of guys struggle with after coming back from TJ surgery.

Lol he's one of the best strikeout pitchers in the league and was No. 2 in the league since 2001 per nine innings with 11.89 k/9. He'll get paid a shite ton as long as he doesn't hurt his arm again.

I don't know what will happen with him TBH, Texas is built to be competitive for awhile and I think it will come down to where he wants to go. If he wants to stay he'll have to take a pay cut compared to what LAD (Who I think will be the frontrunner for him) or the Yankees will pay. A lot of the local media here are not optimistic though and neither am I.

I won't blame him for wanting to go elsewhere though. He missed out on a crap ton of money with the contract he signed with us, it was truly a bargain.

No way does he get 30 a year if he has a repeat of last year.

Darvish has agreed to a six-year deal worth $60 million

The agreement comes 30 days after the Rangers won the right to negotiate with Darvish and his representatives, Don Nomura and Arn Tellem, by submitting a record $51.7 million posting bid.

111 million for 46 wins, not a very good return on the investment.

Lol, you know wins is literally the worst stat you can judge a pitcher by, right?

He's a three-time all-star in all of his complete three seasons of play.

2012: 16-9, 3.90 ERA, 10.4 k/9, 3.29 FIP
2103: 13-9, 2.83 ERA, 3.28 FIP, 11.9 k/9, 6.2 H/9.....led the league in the bolded figures
2014: 10-7, 3.06 ERA, 11.3 k/9, 2.84 FIP
2016: 7-5, 3.41 ERA, 11.8 k/9, 3.09 FIP

The guy has been great over his career. We're historically horrible at giving him run support. The guy is definitely better than David Price who signed for $30 mil a year last offseason.

Japanese and Korean pitchers tend to get figured out and fail to adapt. The MLB season in Texas is also a meat grinding oven for a starting pitcher.

This won't happen unless we aren't in the playoff picture and know he won't resign.

For his career, Yu Darvish has pitched better at home than on the road. Feel free to look it up yourself.
