re: Is Louisville the most trashy/thug athletic department in the NCAA?

And maybe this is the year Pitino can beat Cal at UK when it matters?

It must be horrible only being competitive in one sport and being shite-stank terrible in all the rest of them. Sure seems that it would make for a miserable existence.

I always find it hilarious when UK fans direct EVERYTHING right to basketball. Its all they have ever had. April to November sucks for Cat fans. Even during the Billy Clyde years November to March wasn't all that

UK and BAMA fans are fricking identical... just substitute football for basketball.
No small wonder that there are so many gumps in this thread, too.

And yet we own every major sport series over you?
But you're right. Winning championships is miserable.

I'm a Louisville fan, but they definitely deserve the criticism that is coming regarding Petrino. Louisville is an awesome city and I think its cool that they've built their programs to be good in a so many different sports. It's too bad they are going from Strong and Bridgewater (completely stand up people) to Petrino.
With all of that said, one of my biggest sports pet peeves is bigger fan bases bitching about rival programs they are 'better' than (although not rivals, see LSU fans RE: ULL for a good example). Why are UK fans constantly up in arms about Louisville? In the only sport you care about, you are head and shoulders the better program. Two months ago you basically ended the most beloved Louisville team's run in that sport. But if Louisville is brought up, you will see several UK fans do their best to trash everything about the school (unless they went there) and sometimes even the city (hands down, the best thing in Kentucky- in fairness, this is usually the less reasonable UK fan).

..in basketball. Nothing else of note since mock-turtlenecks were stylish.
Face it... UofL is on a better trajectory than UK and it hurts your feelings.

I agree with all of this.
And i also agree that the worst offenders are usually sidewalk fans of the other team.

I'm guessing this includes the "truth" that you're going to roll in and own the ACC too right?

Let me guess... You are drinking the Stoops kool-aid.
I just hope you realize that all the 'great' recruiting that the man has done still netted him a bottom tier SEC recruiting class. He will need to amp up the talent level exponentially if UK is to compete on a regular basis... and let's be real here... as soon as he gets a better job his arse is hitting the bricks.

Not own... but I can bet that the cards will be able to avoid UK levels of suck.

Coming from a fan of a team that has Bobby Petrino? That's rich as hell.
But hey, enjoy the spin while it lasts.

The same Bobby P that UK fans were screaming for Mitch to hire

I don't like it and I wouldn't mind seeing him leave, but I feel that we are stuck with the dude for a while.

Somebody's bitter that not just UK fans think you're trash?
UK fans I know don't hate UL in the way Bama hates AU or Michigan hates OSU. They hate UL venomously because they honestly believe they are scum of the earth trash encapsulating all that is wrong with America. I used to laugh at their hatred of "daVille" but I can understand why now.

I'd put Bama right up there..
Our head basketball coach got caught up in a golf course cheating scandal. We fired him and he is now doing well at NC State. Our head football coach used a university credit card at a strip club. We fired him before his first game and suffered through Mike Shula as a result. We certainly have some high profile fan incidents, but our athletic administration and people actually associated with the university are not so bad.
