He didn't play in NY or LA, didn't star in a movie, and wasn't hyped by Nike.

yet, every year today's all-stars fly to HTown for Hakeem to personally train them in the post.

You can't get an objective answer to this kind of thing especially because people are blinded by the time in which they grow up and become fans of a sport... kobe has been a great player for a major media market for the entirety of his career and will have tons of fans who will massively value him for his place in pop culture as much as his value as a basketball player.

Frankly it doesn't matter for anything other than a bar-room discussion but anytime you are on a list with players like Jordan, Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Lebron, and Duncan, you are in some pretty rarefied air

Kobe had a magnificent season. Wade had better efficiency because he was playing next to LeBron.

27.3 PPG
5.6 RPG
6.0 APG Tied for career high
46.3 FG%
50.4 eFG% Career high
50.7 TS%

Kobe was AMAZING this season especially for the fact that he is 34.

Oh, because Wade has never shown he could put up those numbers without LeBron.

Kobe was playing next to Howard and Gasol.

Pau was pretty terrible for most of this year.

Lets compare Wade and Kobe:

Kobe:
27.3 PPG
5.6 RPG
6.0 APG
46.3 FG%
50.4 eFG%
50.7 TS%
PER: 23.0

Played with the troubled Lakers team.

Wade:
21.2 PPG
5.0 RPG
5.1 APG
52.1 FG%
52.8 eFG%
57.1 TS%
PER: 24.0

Played with LeBron and the much better synched Heat.

It is close but thinking about the situation Kobe was in, and the fact he couldn't cherry pick his shots like Wade, Kobe had the better season.

Pau missed over 30 games and also played under a terrible coach.

Kobe has never been a selective/high percentage shooter. Half of the reason he's amazing is that so many of the ridiculous shots he forces up go in (in spite of his shot selection)

Ummm...the three highest FG% Wade ever had was with LeBron on the team.

Three out of four of the highest eFG% wade ever had was with LeBron on the team.
