Kobe over (from the list):

Bird for sure. Dr J as well.

Magic, Malone, Duncan, Dream, all debateable.

Can't remember if Grant Hill was #10 or #11, but obviously him. Not even in Kobe's league.

BTW, Kobe will end his career #3 all time in scoring behind only Kareem and Malone.

With Jordan being the obvious number one, there are around 15-16 players with a legit case to be one of the other 9 in the top 10. Neither LeBron nor Grant Hill belong in that group though. Not really sure about Dr. J either.

As for the 15-16:

Bird
Magic
Shaq
Wilt
Hakeem
Robinson
Malone
Barkley
Stockton (skills-wise, the best point ever imo)
Oscar
Kobe
Russell
Kareem
Baylor
West

Hell I can't even give a 16th because it'd be between Garnett, Duncan, Gilmore, Moses, and Ewing.

Personally, I think a better question is whether Kobe is top 5. Not sure about that.

But top 10, yes.

Hakeem was never the undisputed best player at his position at any point of his career.

Kobe is still probably the best player at his position and was for over a dozen years.

This is still quite true. I don't think Harden has beaten out Kobe yet.

Wade was arguably better this year and absolutely better last season.

So can you pinpoint the years where you can clearly say that Hakeem was better than Robinson, Shaq, Ewing, etc. ?

And who exactly at the two is better than Kobe? Wade? HA! Manu? Ninja please. The only 2 that even had a case this season was Harden. Even then, Kobe was the best at his position from 1999 til at least last ('11-'12).

Nah. Despite his struggles in the playoffs, Wade still had a better season. Harden has an argument as well.

The years he beat ALL OF THEM in the playoffs?

And measuring someone's worth merely by comparing them to others at their position at the time they played is stupid (this favors Hakeen, btw). Hakeem played in the golden era for big men. Kobe played in a decent era for SGs.
