He is currently 9th on the all time sack list, and can possibly move up to fifth if he gets 8 sacks this season.

5× Pro Bowl (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012)
4× First-team All-Pro (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011)
2007 Defensive player of the year

He was so fricking awesome at one point. The all-time sacks ranking is misleading since it hasn't always been recorded.

He s in, although the rules changed so much in 00s I feel stats should be judged a little differently. (Not him, but receiving/passing #s)

Yes, easily. It may take some years but he will definitely get in eventually

Compare him to a similar LB who got in a few years ago Rickey Jackson. Allen's numbers at the end of his career could be close to Jackson minus tackles.

Sacks
Jackson is #13 (128) Allen is #9 (134)

Pro Bowls
Jackson 6 Allen 5

Turnovers (FF/INT)
Jackson 40/8 Allen 31/5

Tackles
Jackson 1173 Allen 479

Note: 2007 Defensive player of the year was Bob Sanders

I though of him as an DE, but when looking at his stats on NFL.com he was listed as a LB. I looked at CBS sports that also had him as a LB. Either way him and Jackson did the same thing, come off the end and go after the QB.

The 2015 season will be the first year he's been anything but a DE

No. He's too much of a redneck with his calf roping foolishness. Guys who celebrate too much after sacks don't get in the Hall of Fame.

Rickey Jackson was a 3-4 OLB who played over the TE his entire career and was actually called to cover more than you'd think. I know their stats are similar but as a player I don't see the comparison to Allen. Jackson's all-around game was a significant factor in his HOF selection; he wasn't just a pass rusher.
