Although I think he has an argument for the best player in the game, that's not the point of this thread.

I believe Gronk might be the perfect football player. On the field he is an absolute monster and by all accounts a great teammate. Off the field he basically acts like a teenager, but he appears to stay clean of any legal troubles. He seems genuinely excited in any interview I've seen or heard, and I'm not sure if he's a genius or a high-functioning ignoramus.

Plus there is this:

And this Gronk reading erotic fan fiction.

He's even better when nobody tries to cover him.

He's probably in the top three, along with Watt and Rodgers.

One of the best, yes. But he seems to be a douche with no personality off the field. I think if his teammates were to invite him out to a club or to have fun, he would complain that he wasn't in the gym.

Watt is the only one I have in the same tier with Gronk.

Again, I'm not saying Gronk is the best football player in the game, but rather the perfect embodiment of a football player. From an entertainment standpoint both on and off the field, I don't believe it gets any better than Gronk.

Gronk is really good, but I don't know what separates him from others. Like, why can't other players be as good as he is?

He's not particularly fast. He's big, but there are a lot of big and athletic guys. He can catch a football... but that's not particularly difficult.

I think Tom Brady makes Gronk and Gronk immensely helps Tom Brady.

Every dude on this board wants to be Gronk more than any other player in the NFL

God, this is dumb. Gronk would be a pro bowler is Matt Cassel were his frickin QB.

This whole QB makes X player great is vastly overstated and I think we'll see that with Graham/Wilson this year.

This is what 'ideal' means. Yeah, I'd love to be Watt but I'd take advantage of the girls/social life while staying out of trouble. Therefore, Gronk hands down.

haha what?? Did you even watch last night?? The TDs he made is what separates him from everyone else. No one else in the league makes those plays. The dude is unreal 1 on 1, he always makes the play.

Gronk is way more athletic than you're giving him credit for. Did you see the catch he made last night where he landed out of bounds in the back of the end zone? He's unreal.
