Is Clemson as close to a lock as can be to return next year?

They lose 2 starters on offense from this game, RT and LG.

Defense loses 3 starters, DE, DT, MLB. Top 3 of 4 commits this class are DE, DT, LB.

Second team offense loses 2 seniors.

Second team defense loses zero.

@Auburn to open the year, yearly SC game (home) for an OOC.

Hard to imagine they wouldn't make the playoffs again.

They are @ Florida State, and the Noles will be loaded too.

Never a lock. Look at Ohio state. Also look how lucky Clemson got with that easy schedule to get here. Never know

Nearly everyone said the same exact thing about OSU last year.

Will they possibly lose any other key underclassmen?

Who coaches Clemson when Dabo heads to Bama after Saban bolts for the NFL?

They'll still have Dabo as their coach though...

Nothing is a lock with a 4-team playoff. They mess up and lose 1 game and they may immediately drop out of the playoff race.

And if Ohio State had Clemson's QB situation they would have been there.

You're forgetting both CBs as well. Alexander and Tankersley are probably both gone.

UNC loses half their offense.

FSU on the road will be tough.

True, Alexander is 100% gone. Not sure Tankersley is though.

They missed out on the playoffs on a field goal with no time left in the game?

And they missed the playoffs. Therefore, no shoe-ins.

And Ohio State played like garbage (compared to their capabilities) for about 75% of their games this season.

Watson is certainly susceptible to injury, both based on history and style of play.
