He has been mentioned as a big time MVP candidate this year with his team being 7-0.

I've seen people on here say they believe he will be behind only Rodgers over the next few years when it comes to NFC QBs. (LMAO)

High praise going on here. But, when I see him play he overthrows 50% of the time and lacks the mechanics I see from the best QBs in this league. I see a guy that is slightly above average as a QB, but can make enough plays with his legs to trick people into believing he is anywhere near top tier. He has stayed as basically the exact same player since entering this league and the numbers back this up.

So by looking at these stats Newton is having the highest Int% percentage of his career, lowest completion % of his career and the lowest passer rating of his career. All of these numbers are, IMO, extremely mediocre and it's laughable that people want to push this guy as some elite QB so bad. He's in his 5th season and hasn't improved at the most important aspect of being a QB, passing the ball.

But Coco, he runs the ball too!!! LOL you Saintard!!!

Alright. They are on par with his usual stats there, big deal.

Let's face it; he is what he is. He's an amazing athlete built like a tank, but he's nowhere near being a top QB in this league and it's time we stop pretending that he is. He is carried by a great defense, which is where the success of the Panthers has stemmed from over the last few years.

Cam is a better player than Kaep, but I do find this hilarious.

Floor is yours Cam lovers, let's hear it. Give me legitimate reasons why I should believe he is an MVP candidate, and why he will be the 2nd best QB in the NFC over the next 3-5 years.

He carries a putrid offense filled with below average NFL talent.

No, I don't think he's overrated.

The no talent on offense is so overplayed. He has talent on the offense, just not WR's.

O-line until recent injuries=good
RB=good
TE=good

Add the GREAT defense and he has plenty of help. His numbers are not worthy of MVP at all. It's a black thing that he gets that attention.

If he were white, this would be a non issue or a complete joke.

I usually don't make these kind of posts, but you're obsessed beyond any measure of normal. I have yet to see you go a day without trying to slam Cam Newton on this board.

We get it, you hate him. You think he's overrated. This kind of obsession is starting to rival ATPB days though, and it's as equally sad as it is hilarious.

Nice write-up, and it's very hard to disagree with you.

I thought anyone who didn't agree that Cam is the best QB ever was just a butthurt LSU fan because he beat us by 7pts one time 5 years ago?

A putrid offense? They have arguably the best run game in the NFL right now. And statistically a top three defense in the league. I'm not one of those guys who says Cam isn't good. He's a guy who can clearly make pays. But I think you could put about half the starting QBs in the league on that team and they're likely still 7-0.

I give legit arguments. I don't hate the dude. I think he is a tool on the field but seems to be a pretty decent guy off of it. But this is about people constantly claiming he;s so good when the numbers do not back it up. I got slammed on here many times for saying Kaepernick wasn't shite when people were all over his dick. I am backing up my claim that he is overrated as a QB and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as the top tier guys.

He's going to be the best quarterback in the NFC behind Rodgers over the next 3-5 years? Give me the argument as to why

I certainly don't think he is a MVP candidate but I think what he gives you on the ground especially on short yardage situations and in the endzone is very underrated.

They run the ball because they have to. The only team I'd say who runs the ball more (eye test, not looking up stats) is Seattle.

Cam is the superior talent between the two, but I believe even with Kaep they'd have a solid record. When Kaep was surrounded by a good defense the 49ers won a lot of games. I do not think either could carry a team with a shitty defense.

What? They run the ball because that's the strength of their team.

I do not disagree with that. He is unstoppable in short yardage situations. Very frustrating player for any defense to face in goal-line or short yardage scenarios.

Let's say his team is down big similarly to how the Colts were in the game Monday night. Could Cam bring them back? I don't see it. He is best when it is ball control; defense getting stops and turnovers while the offense moves the ball at a decent pace. In a shootout, or the Panthers trailing by a decent margin where he needs to throw, I wouldn't trust it.

I guess you're settling for just hating the entire franchise then?

Also, the majority of your argument is stat based. Based on that, award every good thing to the stat padders. If you think Carolina is undefeated without Cam, you're delusional. If you think that run game would be near as good as with any other QB, then I simply can't help you. Cam's mere presence on the field improves the run game dramatically.

Additionally, the WRs haven't exactly been stellar by any means. It doesn't matter who is throwing the ball if they don't freaking catch. Ginn Jr. dropped a perfectly thrown game winner on Monday night for crying out loud.

See above, but we're talking about a candidate here. Not the MVP winner. Why are you so worked up about him simply being a candidate?

Who is going to be better? Brees is at the end of his career unless he decides to be consistently good again. Romo is a viable option. Other than that, I'm not seeing any other QB right away that hasn't struggled or simply not been as good.
