Maybe Sterling knows something we don't. I know if it was me or most anyone else I know they'd have been asking if she was sleeping with Magic because of his HIV status.

The bottom line is Sterling was/is bad news. From his past acts, he had this coming. I know Sterling settled the housing discrimination cases but a NBA player would have been faced with disciplinary action if he'd settled a legal matter that was a bad reflection on his behavior.

bullshite. Kobe settled out of court with his alleged RAPE victim, and yet absolutely nothing was done to him. I'd think settling in regards to a RAPE case is significantly worse than a slumlord being a racist. This is my issue with many of you. Kobe didn't even get fined for that.

Then Silver lied in public since he adamantly stated the entire decision was based on this incident. Whether you want to attach it to his lifetime achievement or not is pathetic. The NBA clearly isn't, and in court they will be sued on such lines. They made his past inadmissible with their decision and statement of how they got to it.

But sure, it's a lifetime award.

You heard this too? He proceeded to bring up the obvious Jewish derogatory term that rhymes with his first name. I'm sure the discrimination Mike Greenberg has experienced is on par with that of the Latinos and blacks...

And you are right too. I know it may be hard to believe, but I think Sterling is a POS too and hoped he get removed from owning the Clippers, but not this way, and not with some faux rage over personal comments.

I just hate selective punishment of racism. Either its always wrong or it never is. Plain and simple. Consistency is key.

so you believe everything you hear just because someone says it? Yikes.

He couldn't say it, never was going to say it whether he did or didn't. So him saying it is irrelevant, really.

Media like ESPN?

ESPN's Bomani Jones 2006 article for "Page 2". -"Sterling's Racism should be News"(Racist apologists will just call him 'race baiter')

ESPN writer Jamele Hill criticized Stern for his deafening silence on Sterling when he lays the hammer down on 'Cornrowed' Black athletes . Hill says "Sterling makes Limbaugh look like MLK Jr."(shut up "race baiter")

ESPN had writers on top of Sterling years ago, but Black writers are attacked by apologists (like you & TD)as 'race baiter' 'race hustlers'etc....,. if they dare mention racism. They only have audio now .

Deadspin in 2009 called him out.

There was a book written in 2010 by a guy Dave Zirin pointing out Sterling's "flair for racism" & "panache for prejudice".

Elgin Baylor dismissed as a 'race whiner' as is Oprah & Magic Johnson had he made these allegations about Sterling without audio proof.

You don't have to hate anyone to be a racist, you just need to think one race is superior to another. I don't hate corvettes but I think lambos are superior.

Uh huh. So you are assuming he is doing exactly the opposite of what he stated. You'd suck in law. Again, if you are going to harp on:

(1) a settlement as clear admission of guilt

and

(2) firing of the worst GM in NBA history that you gave decades of chances to prove otherwise who then loses his BS suit against you because he sucked and it was understandable to fire him.

NBA still shouldn't punish him for those, because they either were proven to be unsound claims (Elgin Baylor case) and the other was settled and those people received reparations.

There's the answer to the OP's question. Because whining race baiters like ESPN writers Bomani Jones(2006) & Jamele Hill(2009) calls someone a racist they are dismissed.

Just because Black/Hispanic tenants 'play the victim card' & sue we should not believe them. Blacks are always playing the victim card , right?

Most racists are too smart to be openly racist & racism is far more subtle today.

Lee Atwater explained this to Republicans when employing the Southern Strategy , "You can't say N word , n'word anymore that hurts you, backfires.". Atwater explained you have to be more subtle & racism today is subtle & hard to prove unless you catch a guy on audio.

When Blacks or Hispanics claim racism now they are 'playing the victim /race card' because they don't have audio.

So the military must be racist too since they require specific haircuts in them. The players signed to play for the clippers and their owner has the right to ask them to present themselves in a way he sees fit.

Elgin Baylor was a horrible GM and deserved to be fired. It had absolutely nothing to do with race and if anything Baylor can be used as a counter claim against Sterlings racism seeing as he allowed him to maintain his position with his pathetic performance as long as he did.

Oprah is notoriously known as a race baiter, and why should anyone take seriously a woman that falsely claimed sexual abuse to make her life look more dramatic and build herself up? Yup, surely she is the sound of reason here.

Who claimed this? I mentioned that you can't assume racial discrimination because several tenants claimed to be mistreated and they happen to be of a certain race. The problem is Sterling wasn't so much racist in that litigation as he was a total slumlord.

The problem people have is when you have people like Jamele Hill claim everything is race related. She is a hack and anyone with common sense knows it. You want to fix race relations in this country? Stop racism from all sides, not just one side.

Baylor sucked because everyone who knows about basketball knows that Sterling was the absolute cheapest un'dedicated owner in sports.

I do criticize Baylor for taking his money silently until he was fired though as he probably knew or at least heard he was a bigot when he cashed those checks for years.

Like Oprah, Baylor, Jamele Hill, Bomani Jones etc,....racists apologist line up to attack the 'race baiter/whiner' when they point out bigotry, but have no explicit audio or only hearsay allegations by monority tenants 'playing the victim card'.

What? No one is defending Sterlings racism. You need to accept that. People are annoyed at the attention and the extreme stupidity the commissioner has now brought on it.

The guy is a racist and a bigot. Fine. If you want to punish him, fine, but do so even-handedly against all. Jamelle Hill is a race baiter, while Bomani Jones isn't, but of course you group both together in an attempt to legitimize your argument.

In the end, if the NBA wants to succumb to racism by blacks being okay but by whites not okay, then they should come right out and say it, instead of playing this BS PR campaign.

blaming black people for why no one cares when they're discriminated against.

Nice.
