This is confusing. I am not sure what I should be offended at anymore.

You should be offended by racism, that's all I said.

It worries me that that could confuse that much.

I still don't know how to correctly use the word "irony."

no i understand intent....just citing examples

What was the intent of black guys saying "you a crazy white boy" compared to the intent in her case? It's pretty much clear as day.

she seemed mad that the tennant wanted their rent discounted.

Racism should offend everyone.

No. If someone hates blacks, whites, asians or whatever else it usually has no impact on my life. I feel sorry for people who hate someone based soley on color but I won't get offended over it...unless it is directed towards someone i know.

I rarely get offended though so i am not claiming to be like the averaging person in that regard.

They insulted the latinos and blacks because they made the apartments trashy and demanded lower rent.

The asians they rented to never complained or asked for lower rent and Sterling has publicly said he loves the koreans because they take what they can get.

I think he's got a bigger issue dealing with ignorant poor people than race to be completely honest.

Again, you have dodged my questions every time, why did she use the term "black", and why don't you use it if it's not racist?

There ya go. I'm not saying you should get your pitchforks and throw a fit, but if it's someone you know and it offends, it should also offend you if it happens to anyone. Seems reasonable to me.

So the people sued because the landlord wouldn't lower their rent?

Maybe that's why they're not 'together' any more.

She got sick of the racist viewpoint and decided its best for herself

Racist or not, why are tenants asking their landlord to lower their rent, then getting upset when they say no? It was inappropriate to use the racist terminology, but unless they lowered the rent for another racial group when asked, these are ridiculous things to complain and file suit about.

So I should be offended even though it wouldn't offend me? Help me understand the correct ways I should be offended.

They were asking to lower the rents because the apartments were in disrepair; inoperable plumbing. It's in the depositions. The Sterlings are slumlords.

Then move. I am sure given all of this crap you just stated, they had the right to break their lease legally without paying. Unless the slumlord only fixed the properties of non-black or non-hispanic tenants, then you have an issue.

Again, I don't doubt Sterling is a racist POS, but the double standards applied in this case are unbelievable, when I've seen plenty of racist banter publicly made by athletes, coaches, etc that were simply ignored or given a slap on the wrist. Why was Kobe Bryant not suspended for even one game based on his use of a derogatory term at a ref in a freaking game? He was just fined.

Why are you fixated on this and not the real issue in play here?

You're sure that Donald Sterling would have just let them do it that easily? Really?

Seems like a reasonable request before taking the step of moving would be to at the very least ask for lower rental rates. Again, that's not even the issue at hand, nor was it the main issue at hand in the discrimination suit.

Intent plays a HUGE part in this and it should, don't you agree?

You act like moving is easy as 1,2,3? Have you considered that the tenants were already financially strapped?!
