Hmmmm. I'm as much of a homer as the next guy, but don't know if I even agree with that.

Sumlin will be in the NFL sooner rather than later. 49ers or Boys.

One of the Harbaughs makes a lot of sense.

I've noticed a few posts on a Harbaugh going to Michigan. This is one of the more asinine things I've read. There is no way either would leave their NFL spots for Michigan next year.

Well, if he wants to coach college, there's your man, Michigan.

And this obsession with having a "Michigan Man" has been and will continue to be their undoing. That's what relegated them to Brady Hoke.

What's funny is that the last guy they hired with absolutely no ties to Michigan who worked out was Schembechler, yet they somehow fixate on this delusion that everyone they target now has to have program ties.

They won't right their ship until they go after an innovative guy who's either proven himself as a head coach on a lower level (a guy like Franklin or Malzahn) or a top coordinator.

This could be said about any coach. I don't see anyone winning national championships with a squad full of 3* players.

If I'm Michigan and strike out on both Harbaughs I call Stanford first and then Baylor.

I don't think Les is going anywhere. If they offered Cam he'd take it, but I don't think they offer.

They need a big hire. I'd go after Petrino.

Ann Arbor is basically a Rust Belt version of Austin, TX. A bunch of stuffed-shirt, arrogant hypocrites who completely overstate their importance in the college football world. Where they get this air of superiority, I'll never know.

It was these boosters and hangers-on that sabotaged RichRod because (gasp!) he wasn't a "Michigan Man". Who do you think tattled on the UM football program for violating the "voluntary" workouts rule? It wasn't anyone outside the program. And, goodness, he and his family didn't fit in at Ann Arbor. His wife dyed her hair. No one in the staid halls of Michigan could tolerate that!

(P.S. The same stuffed shirts will torpedo Charlie Strong in Austin. I bet he'll be gone inside 3 years.)

See earlier posts about his tenure there.

I'm no Rich Rod fan, but they never accepted him there. Hoke went 8-5 and 7-6 in his second and third years and got a fourth year with no questions asked because he's a "Michigan Man." Rodriguez won 8 games in his third year and got canned.

This. People inside the football building kept talking to the press about every little thing, and the practice hours thing was the most ridiculous instance of it. They hated the way he talked and carried himself, and it was essentially like a new money guy at an old money country club party.

People hated Rich Rod because of his losing record; however, don't look now, but Brady Hoke just oversaw Michigan being shut out for the first time in my lifetime.

If I am Michigan I will do everything possible to try and get CLM but I don't think he goes to a rebuild job especially since LSU has legit NC chances this and next year.

If you don't get CLM, I would go hard after the Ravens coach. I would stay away from the small school coach that has backfired twice in a row for UM.

He was born in Pennsylvania and grew up a PSU fan. I think he's set at PSU.

Jay Glazer just said Harbaugh is basically done in SF, could be perfect timing for UM to go all out to reel him in.
