Why? same a speculating whether current players are juicing.

I don't care either way. MLB didn't bother to catch them at the time. Too bad.

Yes, his pre-steroid stats are already good enough to put him in the top 2 or 3 position players of the last 30 years, seriously this is a guy who without steroids would've still been the first and only member of the 500/500 club and already was the only 400/400 guy. Prior to steroids he's basically a better baserunning slightly less power Willie Mays (and he'd have ended up just short of Mays in Homers in all likelihood).

The BS part of the "clean" logic is that the kinds so arbitrary. Baseball more than any other sport has always been about bending the rules as much as possible- Cobb sharpened spikes and probably traded hits, Multiple HOFs were known for their ability to throw spitballs or scuff pitches, players took speed for more than a generation but it's a class of substance which let's you train harder and which wasn't specifically banned for much of the high usage period that has people up in arms?

There was nothing in my lifetime watching Bonds during those last 4 or 5 years, just absolutely perfect discipline and an ability to destroy you if you made the slightest mistake, when he was on a hot streak it wasn't even the same sport everyone else played- in a way it's kind of great that he used roids because it answers the question what happens if you're already the best and then you take PEDs and the answer is you become something almost unimaginably great- he treated modern bullpen's and scouting reports like Ruth treated the rag armed exhausted pitchers of his day, I mean remember that 4 year stretch where he passed Mcgwire and then proceeded to hit like. 380 with a 700 obp that was insane.
