I have no connection to the school, but the coaches and players are getting screwed because of the inappropriate action taken by the principal. There could have been more appropriate punishment handed out.

They have one of the best coaches in HS today. He's built winning programs at each of the schools he has coached.

What more appropriate action could be taken at a school which majorly screwed up in handling a home playoff game?
About the only thing I could think of would be to ban her from being present at any LHSAA event for x period of time and, even then, that may not hold up in court.
What makes the punishment more justified, IMHO, is that she had decided beforehand to threaten Live Oak's coach with arrest and tell people those plans, which is why their fans were waving handcuffs at the game.
A stupid decision made on the spur of the moment is far more forgivable than one which is premeditated.

She's still the principal. Therefore the punishment is appropriate.

I dont understand exactly what happened? She had the coach arrested because his pre game warmup took too long? Did it interfere with something that was suppose to happen? I am confused as to what the coach did wrong.

She is an idiot but they are going to wreck shop in the playoffs on the road anyway. Harris is ridiculous. He's going to give Anthony Jennings all he can handle as soon as he gets on campus.

If they do make it to state I think she shouldn't be allowed to participate in any of the awards ceremonies.

Jennings has a year up on him and has basically won the starting role next year and college football experience.
Harris has nothing but high school stats.

Probably only two things can stop a Parkway/Destrehan final: they wind up in the same bracket, or one of the Lafayette/LC teams steps up in the postseason.
Or Destrehan is banned from the postseason.

It was a pissing match between the principal and the Live Oak coach because the coach knew what he was doing and she was f*cking clueless.
I may be a little rusty on the exact details, but here's the version I remember-
In the week leading up to the game, the pre-game schedule was laid out so that there would be warmup time, a performance by the Parkway band, a performance by the Live Oak band, and the the game.
Live Oak's coach asked that the Live Oak band's performance be canceled and that his players get extra warmup time since they were going to be on a bus all day from Watson to Parkway.
The principal decided that if Live Oak's band wasn't going to perform, Parkway's band would play for twice as long. When told she couldn't do that under the rules, she insisted she was going to do it anyway because SHE had supreme authority at Parkway.
Come gameday, the principal apparently told the student body that she'd have the coach arrested if she attempted to defy his order. As a result, the fans had handcuffs on hand to wave around during the whole circus.
Live Oak's coach attempted to have his team come out and warm up during the Live Oak band's alloted time, the Parkway principal showed up with cops in tow to tell him to get off the field and, when he refused, he was cuffed and removed from the field.
The LHSAA came down hard on Parkway because the power-tripping principal never bothered to read the LHSAA rules regarding who has power over what is done on the field and what both sides are guaranteed unless there is a mutual agreement to change it.
Hint - The person in charge of the game is NOT the principal of the host school.

Are we forgetting this is high school football.
It's still should be about the students/athletes and not anything else.
The events that occurred before the game had nothing to do with the game itself.
Do what needs to be done to the administration, but why punish the team? I hate to see kids get punished for nothing they, not the coaching staff did.

Home playoff games are a privilege, not a right.
Parkway's inability to run one properly caused a major clusterf*ck and lost them the ability to host any this year as a result.
While I'm sorry for the kids that they lose the ability to have 2-3 home games in the playoffs this season, they knew this was coming for a year because their principal was an idiot.
I'm also less than impressed by her attempts to get this penalty overturned, as well as their state representative's claims that this is "punishing the victim".
"The victim" in this case was Live Oak's football team and its coach, which got screwed because this powertripping b!tch was too dumb to read a manual.

At this moment on the LA Sportsline rankings, they are paired up with Denham Springs.
With this horeseshit watered down 5A nonselect playoffs, a 3-6 team on a 4 game losing streak with one win in district would get a home game.
That's gotta be fixed. Ehret could finish 8-2 and play on the road while whatever shite team with a losing record and finishes as the 30 seed gets a home game.

What's your solution, pair them up against Destrehan or Acadiana in the first round as an away team? Or rescind the punishment that everyone's known about for months because they may actually have to suffer for it?
Parkway HS's administration has shown they are not responsible enough to host a playoff game. You don't reward someone for f*cking up just because it looks like you may actually have to follow through on a punishment.

If Parkway draws Denham Springs, maybe they should play in Alexandria. I have no idea how to work it out.

No, they should have to play in DS. I personally think the principal should've been fired, but she wasn't and the penalty was that they have to travel to whatever team they were playings stadium. I bet if you asked the principal which she preferred, she'd take the latter.
