Define "generation" because unless you narrow it down to 2-3 years I disagree with you. Durant, LeBron, Duncan, Kobe and Shaq are all players that played in the last 4 years and they are all better on offense than him.

Tim Duncan is not a better offensive player than Carmelo. I can't believe any reasonable person would actually think that. He would be in the conversation with Kobe, Durant, Lebron, and, well, I'm not sure who else I'd put in their category. Carmelo is probably the most complete scorer out of all of them, honestly.

Melo is like a black Kiki Vandeweghe. Sure, he may score 25-30 ppg but he's still the best player on a shitty team that no one cares about.

I disagree. He takes way fewer shots but is way more efficient. When he wants to score he is unstoppable. Also, saying Melo is a more complete scorer than Kobe is just silly.

Melo is a top 10 player in the league. He may not be as good as Bron or Durant, but he is still a better player than most of the league. I mean its really not rocket science

This thread is awful. People are talking about how he relies too much on himself especially late in games.... who else on one of his teams would you have trusted late in the game to take the shot other than melo?? Tyson Chandler? Washed up AI or Stoudemire?

Exactly.

I get saying you don't think he's the kinda guy to lead a team to a championship as the #1 option, but to say you don't know why any team would want him is insanity

hes a gifted scorer. But basketball is more than putting ball through the hoop. If he scores 30, but gives up 27, he's not all that valuable

Probably because he's really fricking good. He has shortcomings but he's better than 95% of the players in the NBA.

He won't ever win an NBA championship and that's a pretty lousy shortcoming.

Plenty of good players don't win championships.
It's stupid to say "I don't get why any team would want Melo."
If there were a draft with all NBA players in a pool, he'd be taken in the first round obviously. And definitely in the top half.

Oh the horror! He must be pathetic!! Just like iverson, Barkley, ewing, malone, stockton, and other hall of famers who didn't win a championship. ...
