Like I said it's not a completely rational reason...but I say as a fan you don't have to be completely rational.
And yes H-town I should have said mid to late round picks that he's missed on. It just seems like too many years they get nothing from the draft.

I'm all for the tank. Especially with Foster out. 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 are worthless.
Same, but I have zero faith in the QB class coming out. I think 6-10 or 7-9 is most likely this year honestly
ETA also frick Rick Smith

they may have been his first choice, but he wasn't signing here for the vet minimum. He got like $20M from the Broncos. It was discussed ad nauseam on talk radio at the time and it would have been basically impossible to work him in under the cap. Nice fantasy i suppose, but if i was given the choice of keeping 1 out of Kubiak or Smith, i would have kept Kubes 100 out of 100 times so no need to find other reasons to get rid of him

Kind of expected it, but I imagine the battle will still go on throughout the season. There will be injuries and time for both to still play. Kind of wish the offense would have stretched the field a little more when Mallett was in there instead of the short stuff but if that's what they want to do then Hoyer is a better fit

You need to watch Sudfeld then. I think he is the best one coming out this year. If he doesn't get hurt last year Indiana goes to a bowl.
He is 6'5" 230 has a good arm and from reports at the Manning Camp he did well.

I'll have to remember that name, But reports from the Manning Camp also said Hackenberg was the best college QB. But i just mention him because of his ties to BO'B. It's way early, seems like every year some QB everyone expects to go in the first falls off the face of the earth (Hudley) and someone no one is talking about goes high. Bortles.
Sounds like the B1G is loaded with QBs, Cook, Hackenberger, Jones/Barett

I saw that they cut someone last week on the show
But sources tell me that they've seen him hanging around training camp in Houston
The show runners over there tried to keep his resigning under wraps, but weren't very good at it

Truth is neither Hoyer or Mallet are franchise QBs and the fact that Mallet couldn't win the job is very telling of that.
Sucks because I had high hopes for Mallet to be able to solidify himself as the starter.
Yep. Mallett doesn't have enough starts under his belt either.

He is definitely better than Cook and Jones. Barrett is a different type of QB. Hackenburg has been the highest rated QB since he came out of HS. I like Hackenberg a lot, but think Sudfeld will be a better QB. He threw for 1500 yds in 6 games before injury last year. The guy that replaced him threw for 500, Diamont was the worst QB I saw in the B1G and/or NCAA last year.
Again though, I thought Ryan Leaf and Colt Brennan were going to be good NFL QB's also.

Apparently, Hoyer has been BOB's choice from day one but he had to let it play out in practice. They have a pretty tight relationship that goes back to the Patriot days. Mallet was not going to get the job unless he just totally outshone Hoyer.

We'll know more about Hackenberg this year. His OLINE last season was complete garbage.
